Shocking to see no Brit has made a thread yet!

I loved this film, in some ways its better than Casino Royale (Action, quality of the action, a decent Aston chunk, good characters, some witty dialogue) and other ways not quite as good (bit too short, left wanting more, plot not as involving/twisty, absolutely terrible title sequence).

Overall an amazing film imo, a worthy sequel and continues the direction the franchise is taking nicely.

Go see it asap!

Saw it the other night, it's absolutely amazing. Definitely on a par with Casino Royale.

However, the title sequence did absolutely suck! I guess it summed up the film nicely (desert), but still...

":xn2c71ko]Well... just came from the cinema.

It's a good movie... and, that's it I guess, a good movie! Didn't exceeded my expectations tho.

same here. went with my gf and we both were a little bit confused by the plot. however, that may just be us. :)

You have seen Casino Royale haven't you, Steppenwolf?

Yes i have. Decent action movie. Not more not less. But seriously how can anyone fully enjoy modern Bond movies when the old ones are so much superior? I see nothing about the new Bond movies that could make them classics. The Connery and Moore ones i have seen a dozen times and would always watch them again when i see they are on TV. A movie like Casino Royal doesn't has this appeal to me.

For modern times secret agent movies the Bourne trilogy is ten times better then anything with the name Bond on it from the last 25 years imo.

i never got what was so special about bond movies. they're not particularly interesting plotwise (generic villain x tries to take over the world, bond girl twists the plot etc etc.) and the action is at best mediocre. the old movies had at least a few good actors, but the newer ones have no appeal at all. this leads me to a question: is it pure traditionalism or what makes you people watch these movies? i am thinking i must be stupid not to see the reason, so please, enlighten me.

He's a fun character to watch. And exaggerated spy tales are even more fun. It's the same reason why science fiction and westerns are interesting, they're genre flicks that a lot of people really like. Bond happens to do the spy fiction stuff the best. Though, maybe by default.
