DelaZ Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 I'm pretty sure they are using the "In-House ®" Engine Quote
Defrag Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 I hope they aren't biting off more than they can chew with the new engine stuff. I was under the impression that they'd get this moving quickly by building off the source engine. Quote
dux Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 Well they did start with that idea didn't they. That tech demo of the dynamic infestation was source. Then they made their own engine. I guess Source couldn't do what they wanted? Quote
jaboo224 Posted November 9, 2008 Author Report Posted November 9, 2008 That tech demo of the dynamic infestation was source. No that tech demo was in max's engine. They made a post to clarify it wasnt source :] Quote
PhilipK Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 The UW guys are doing a really great job with this, and I was very impressed seeing the last updates. Quote
Zacker Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 I definitely also have my worries regarding if those two guys can really handle this much. Building a brand new AAA 3d engine with support for FPS and RTS gamemodes is quite an insane task to take on for just 1-2 guys. As a gamer I would like a NS2 to come out as soon as possible and I am not entirely sure if that's going to happen anytime soon. Quote
