skdr Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Awesome new game from Valve coming this November. I played it a bit when I was at Valve and I must tell you, it's brilliant! L4D demo coming to Steam and XBOX Live 2 weeks before the release. Pre-Purchase from Steam (-10% off): http://store.steampowered.com/app/500/ Quote
Punky Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 F*ck yeah, finally the pre-order is there! Can't wait for it to come out! Quote
st0lve Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Kinda expensive for being a game by Valve on Source compared to the other games they got Quote
skdr Posted October 16, 2008 Author Report Posted October 16, 2008 I think the price is fair considering it's a game with heavy amount of replayability. Look at BF2 and Quake Wars, both were full prices PC games and focused on multiplayer component only. Quote
-HP- Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 it should cost around 35€, that's not expensive at all. Quote
e-freak Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 It's not expensive - 4 full SP-Campaigns of each 1 to 2 h (SP means you can play them offline with AI-guys or online Coop). I love my new job Quote
⌐■_■ Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 FCK YEH!! allthough i do agree with stolve on the price though ($50 in my region).. also: whats up with they hunger: lost souls? Quote
e-freak Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 50$ is like 35€ (+5€ tax most probably) - that's not so expensive? Quote
Furyo Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Guys 50 euros in europe buys you the same thing as 50 dollars in the US, the exchange rate comparison doesn't hold any water. You're just lucky to get that "price cut" because you happen to currently live on the right side of the pond currency wise. Quote
⌐■_■ Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 yeah currencywise were on the good side, true that. but that wasnt the issue. the issue is that l4d is the price of a new game but uses an 'outdated' engine from valve. anyway, im just another wining customer, since im going to pay the full price anyway.. FrieChamp Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 yeah currencywise were on the good side, true that. but that wasnt the issue. the issue is that l4d is the price of a new game but uses an 'outdated' engine from valve. 'Outdated' engine..is that the predecessor to 'In-House' engine? This will never get old But yeah, Left 4 dead, looks like some excellent, fresh mp action! Quote
Minos Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Source is not outdated... it's just got a different focus than cryengine2 and unreal3. Quote
