Chunks Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 All the weapons are left-handed?... interesting. Quote
st0lve Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 Most games make weapons mirrored, so that they look nicer. If they make them normal, there is almost never anything nice to look at. Quote
-HP- Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 Is the widescreen really borked??? I never ended up buying bioshock because of this after playing the demo. I hope they patch it or something, I think i'll just wait awhile. yeah, it is. but tbh I don't really notice anything. Quote
-HP- Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 Man, this game is awesome... Pure fun, and It's open world is huge as fuck! Been playing it for about 5 hours and I've yet to find a bug! And dude, nowadays It's rare to play a game without show-stopping bugs on version 1.0! the only thing I'm disliking atm, is that a good part of the game is spent either on a boat or a truck, I know It's needed because the world map is huge, but oh well, at least the driving is very well tweaked and even fun! Erratic Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 Unofficial widescreen fix: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/fo ... hp?t=14750 Quote
Buddy Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 Its good but gets boring and repetetive fast. The graphics quality is a bit of a led down for me + the performance is lower than i would expect from the look of it. And it says Imaconsole all over the place :F AI is really dumb as well Quote
st0lve Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 It's like a more shooter oriented Stalker, but with very, very limited amounts of people. They are all the same, ie. the guy who works at the gunshops, he is the same character no matter which shop you enter, his missions are also the same (destroy convoy with shitty aks etc.). The game looks very nice, but it's all about driving from 1 point to another, on the way you get past a couple of checkpoints which are always hostile, so you blow them up. Then find some diamonds and then drive on. Then encounter some random dude in a vehicle that rams you while his topgunner is trying to shoot you. The main missions are very often "get this from that person", and your friends want you to do something else first. Pistols and rifles are crap, heavy weapons and machete is the way to go. RPG7s are so much fun. Weapon jamming is a pain in the ass, but then again, weapons in Africa would jam cause of all the dust etc. What FC2 needs, is more variation, a lot more. Quote
dux Posted October 26, 2008 Author Report Posted October 26, 2008 So far: - The fov is fucked. It's default I believe is 65, and that doesn't work for PC or me. What's even more funny is I had to download a 3rd party app to fix this for widesreen. Laughable. The mouse is fucked. It's unresponsive and feels very sluggish. My Malaria has impeccable timing. Go through a door and bam! It starts acting up. Go into the red zone and it again mysteriously begins to affect me. Vegetation in Africa is made of rubber. If I walk over a plant or drive over it, it magically springs back up. My machete only likes to kill people. Swing it at a tree or plant and it goes right through as if it wasn't there. The A.I has many retard moments. The first enemy I ever met I didn't know was an enemy. I walked right up to him and tried to talk to him, I couldn't so I stand there looking at him trying to figure out what he's doing then he suddenly turns to me and starts to shoot me. All the speed dials in a vehicle work and function to your speed. If you look at your feet however, they never move the pedals. You can't answer your mobile when in a vehicle. Apparently that would give a bad impression to the impressionable youth of today. Carry on shooting thousands of Negroids, though. That's fine. Your boss seems to have magic vision, as soon as you complete an objective he rings you instantly as if he's psychic. Some gun emplacements are bugged. I used one and couldn't actually get off of it, as if my hands were glued to the gun itself. Reload. + It looks okay. Voice acting is decent. Runs smoothly. Vehicles are responsive. Weapon animations are nice to watch. The map is a nice feature. Quote
dux Posted October 26, 2008 Author Report Posted October 26, 2008 I've seen two. And that was the intro ride. :monocle: Quote
Minos Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 Gamers these days spend so much time looking for flaws and bitching about random things that they forget about the most important: having fun. Seriously guys, being critic is ok but being an ass all the time is annoying. If a game has a minor flaw people will always jump on it and make a big case. I'm not talking about major flaws like plot holes, rubbish design etc... I'm talking about small shit like this: Vegetation in Africa is made of rubber. If I walk over a plant or drive over it, it magically springs back up. If that really bothers you then you should go seek a doctor or get a fucking life man. Quote
JeanPaul Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 I honestly think this game sucks, hard. Its super boring and quite ugly. I cant believe people even come close to comparing this with Crysis... Quote
sarge mat Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 I have been put of getting this after seeing the 1UP Show this week. I was hoping for a game that you could drive around in and do a bit of exploring with towns that are populated with ordinary people. But it looks like everyone in the game hates you can you can't drive far without getting attacked. Quote
