Jenn0_Bing Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 Whew, just finished it, 37.4hours here. I did scour every place for the readable stuff, still managed to miss some of it though as I didn't get the achievement, which it at least showed a percentage of what I had picked up. Also didn't get pacifist, which I'm extremely confused about. I never touched a gun, or used the punch through wall when someone was on the other side just to be safe. Oh well, next play through I'm going guns blazing, so maybe I'll pick that one up on play through 3. I agree with all the boss comments to an extent. I never got to the point of rage quitting, but without a doubt the worst bit's of the game for me. I loved exploring all the environments, can't remember the last game I found it so satisfying just to be existing in it's levels without worrying about any tangible gameplay. Quote
e-freak Posted September 8, 2011 Report Posted September 8, 2011 Finished - 19 hours. Didn't get all the achievements, not sure if I can be bothered to get these. Game is awesome, but the final boss fight feels a bit too easy. Like the 3 main bosses were freaking hard and then the last one was just kill three turrets and wait for the glass to shatter? (think i can say that without spoilers). The different endings are also kinda meh, like they don't really make a difference to my game experience which made saving Sarif and Tarrek in the last level pointless. The videos them selves where great in cut and voice over and definitely great food for thought compared to other games "'plosions!!!" videos. also seeing kleinluka in the credits with that guitar was nice oh and the part after the credits... wtf? do i have to play the other parts to ounderstand what's going on? and why can't i just get megan back Quote

Jetsetlemming Posted September 9, 2011 Report Posted September 9, 2011 Annoying. I plunk down 5000 futurebucks to help an annoying person in china, and then the quest is finished, and I went back to the annoying person to give them the good news, and they've vanished from the face of the earth. dux Posted September 9, 2011 Report Posted September 9, 2011 Just finished it. The end section was really bad Decent game, worth the money but not overly amazing for me. Sorry to be a donny downer. Quote

Maybe she ran away? Maybe she was killed by the Harvesters? Video Games. The greatest story telling medium since concept albums. Quote
Psy Posted September 10, 2011 Report Posted September 10, 2011 Finished it today, taking about 20 hours of my time overall. I found the game thoroughly enjoyable, and I especially liked the fact that the story was intellectual and covered some interesting themes. The only thing that really annoyed the hell out of me were a) boss battles (especially the one at the TV station. Jesus fuck I raged so goddamn much) and b) god awful facial animations. Seriously, Valve to me are the only studio that make completely convincing facial animations. I'm also glad it wasn't a terrible PC port thanks to tutorial videos where the VO references the keyboard and mouse, the ability to change the FOV and quick saves everywhere. AMAZING. Why can't all games have these? The only downer is the fact that for some reason changing the AA to anything less than high causes the game to spout some crap about my display driver being naughty. >_> Quote
2d-chris Posted September 13, 2011 Report Posted September 13, 2011 I just finished it too, the end level lacked something, those raged workers are just not fun to fight and it seemed like half the map was missing stuff to do. Giant empty areas! End boss fight was prob the only semi half decent one in the game, also felt like the driving force of you going there was kinda forgotten. You find the chick then she just disappears ;P Overall I really enjoyed the game, I'll be playing it through again for sure ... Quote
Skjalg Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 I finished it during the weekend. The ending did feel a bit rushed, because those raging zombie-enemies were no fun to kill at all. Considering the story and build up then it actually was one of the first times I've played a good fps where killing wasn't fun at all. It actually left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Which I guess is real kudos to the story guys on this game, but sucks ass from a game play perspective. Quote
