PierreOfTheFrench
Hello, I'm new to modeling and I just started using XSI to make some basic models for hl2dm. I have finally become decent at making the models and texturing them but everytime I put them into a map they are tiny . I know that in the .qc file there is the $scale option but as far as I can tell it only works for the first compile. I've been looking for a while to see if there is an easy fix for my problem. I tried deleting all the model outputs from StudioMDL then changing the $scale option to a larger number but that also does nothing even when the old files are rewritten. Also if I knew the conversion of one XSI unit box to 1 Hammer box I could at least get it right the first time. If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be appreciated. Thanks
e-freak
there is no convertion factor. it's 1 unit is 1 unit. 72 units in hammer are 72 units in xsi/maya/3Ds Max. eg a door is 104*48*11,5 equivalent in which tool or software you're working. Pampers
you can export dxf files from hammer and import them into most 3d apps using collada iirc
PierreOfTheFrench
I see thanks for the info I need to make sure I get it the size I want in XSI before I export it or at least know the factor I will have to make it to be the size I would like. Thank you both for your help.
Ginger Lord
I ran into this problem today, no matter what size I modelled my object in XSI it was still tiny ingame. I resorted to the .qc scale parameter to fix this.
