mikezilla Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 So to date Painkiller has sold over 500,000 copies and the CPL has adopted it as their new world tour 1 versus 1 game. If anyone would like to try their hand at a 1 v 1 map for painkiller and maybe have it used by the CPL officially in their world tour that starts in February. Feel free to post them on the forum and send Mike Wardwell an email. mike@gearboxsoftware.com http://www.thecpl.com/league/?s=news&p=newsitem_688
xempest Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 Glad to hear they selected Painkiller. Great game, beautiful level design, and an excellent engine. Hopefully this will revive it's almost-dormant multiplayer mode.
Izuno Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 So to date Painkiller has sold over 500,000 copies... Just curious but is that a world wide number? US domestic life to date in NPD is 69,662 units. That's estimated. Raw scantron data has USA sales at 58,516 (meaning without WalMart and a few very small chains) So has this title sold a lot internationally? That's great that the game is getting some attention from CPL, given I've heard a lot of positive things about it but haven't played it myself.
Taylor Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 I'm intrigued. Time to get a copy of painkiller and have a look.
Pericolos0 Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 cool maybe some mapcore ppl could put their hands together for it
JynxDaddy Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 Painkiller is awsome, the only problem I have with it is everything is done in max D;~
FrieChamp Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 Painkiller was chosen over UT2004, that's why Mark Rein cannot sleep at night anymore
Kreigore Posted October 27, 2004 Report Posted October 27, 2004 It really restores the hardcore dm multiplayer style And i have to say that the SP part is quite good aswell, especially the leveldesign and characterdesign
