dux
I just played it. Stop reading this and go buy it. Now. GO! Why are you still here?
Thrik
Seems to be impossible to get the special galactic edition in the UK. Bit annoying. I'll buy it next week when I get paid, though. Already bankrupted myself this month paying for a holiday.

Steppenwolf
Am i the only person who doesn't really get all the fuzz around the game? I kinda lost my interest years ago when it startet to look more and more like a game for 5 year olds. And the creature designer that was released earlier this year didnt really help either to create some hype for me.
Thrik
I'd imagine most Mapcorians are somewhat objective and can appreciate that it is a pretty grand accomplishment of a game, particularly the level of quality with which pretty much any creature shape, etc can be fully animated and used in a whole bunch of game genres. By all accounts it seems to be pretty fun too, albeit not to a degree that's ever going to survive years of sustained hype. Can anything? If you can seriously look at Spore and say they haven't done something fairly tremendous then there must be something wrong with your neurons. It was the features that got Spore so hyped up in the first place, and they seem to have delivered on those features and promises as much as you could expect. ReNo
I find it an impressive accomplishment, but it isn't my sort of game at all. I'm sure it'll sell well and garner a fair chunk of praise, but I've never really had it on my wanted list.

Exactly! 10 bucks on that it'll be the next "the sims"
Bic-B@ll
i think its really cool mostly for the wide spectrum of gameplay and especially for the fact that you can create your own character and the engine on the fly makes its own animations and stuff for it. id play it but i dont really think it'll have the fan base that the sims enjoys. Scinbed
I'll uh.. "get" it. Never been really interested in it. Will probably turn out like The Sims and get pointless once you've done everything once or twice.
Hourences
It is technically nice, but I too lost interest as soon as it started to look like a game for 2 year olds. Regardless I will prolly play it at some point. The biggest issue for me is this: http://www.gamepolitics.com/2008/05/08/ ... ion-system
Erratic
Mapcore...So brutal. Won't even give Will Wright a chance
jaboo224
As much as will is a great designer and whatnot. He still wont add story to his games. I personally play games due to the story element or at least the style of it. I mean TF2 has more comical enjoyment out of it and is almost like right out of a road runner cartoon. Sin City / The Sims / Spore are all pretty much simplistic games with no plot nor style. Creature editor looks fun and thats about it \: My money is going towards BIA this month. 2d-chris
I'm going to buy this, not because it's a marval of animation and code uberness~ but because i've spent quite a bit of time pondering how it will actually play out. I play allot of rts-god games so this should appeal to me, Will Wright is a legend!
