KoKo5oVaR Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 Is there anybody on mapcore who is familiar on rendering the result of the realtime render of a viewport in 3dsmax ? not sure if that is clear .. I'm modelising a character with MAX, and before starting texturing, i wanted to have a good dirt map to help me visualizing the volumes when painting. i came across a little MAXscript called pits&peaks which is somekind of fake ambient occlusion working with vertex colors, it comes in very handy : (this is the realtime rendering of the perspective viewport) Unfortunately, i can't manage to render this on my uvsheet with rendertotexture because pits&peaks works only on the realtime rendering of max. I know there is a way to use rendertotexture with only the realtime render of the viewport but i can't figure how. if anybody got an idea, thanks in advance ! Quote
KoKo5oVaR Posted August 19, 2008 Author Report Posted August 19, 2008 O K i'm an idiot I just had to assign the vertexcolor map to the diffuse channel of a material and go ahead to "rendertotexture'ing" its diffuse map. thanks ! Quote
