InsaneSingingBlender Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 probably not, but i hate the dx8 water in cs source. so if theres a console command or anything that will make the water dx9 please tell me btw i have a ti4200 Quote
OL Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 hl2 wont even run dx9 on an nvidia card lower than 6800 Quote
Kedhrin Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 its not direct x 9 keeping you back its SM 3.0 i take it thats whats causing it? or could be SM 2.0 maybe your card is that bad, i dunno. Quote
Pericolos0 Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 i want reflective water and normal mapped player models in dx 8.1 too :x i totally dont see a reason why dx8.0-8.1 cant run that Quote
zaphod Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 becuase those graphical functions are unique to dx9. And the functions built into your card are dx8. Quote
Pericolos0 Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 i remember trying the beta on a lan and it has reflective water+normal mapped models when i ran it in dx8. It looked a bit more pixelated than in dx9, but it looked really nice. I know its retarded to base my views on this though ;p Quote
InsaneSingingBlender Posted October 22, 2004 Author Report Posted October 22, 2004 oh well i tried. its just that in the leaked hl2 my water reflected and i get to cs source and its gay. i guess ill just have to wait a few more months for my 6800 gt Quote
curman Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 admitting to having the hl2 leak isn't a great iea Quote
CrazyMAC Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 hmm i had a 4200ti before i went to my 9800pro and i have to admit things ran better on the 4200ti but thats coz my cpu bottle necks my card but the 4200ti did a pretty good job of keeping cs:s looking the same as the dx9 cards Quote

zaphod Posted October 23, 2004 Report Posted October 23, 2004 you should start a big fuss and try and get everyone to go back to playing the leak, like happens every time a new version of cs comes out. Quote
InsaneSingingBlender Posted October 23, 2004 Author Report Posted October 23, 2004 i dont have the leak, i had the leak Quote
curman Posted October 23, 2004 Report Posted October 23, 2004 either way. tis still not good idea. Quote
