Defrag Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 That's being chewed out? I do hope you're joking Quote
teeluu Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 I think i made this one too dirty and it lacks colors. Size is still odd and it doesn't tile at all. Quote
kleinluka Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 liquid bricks? thanks rd.................. ......... its a brick tile. and yeah its got a zig zag pattern. the problem with the texture is that the stuff that seems to be grass or shrubs is only an overlay and you didn't make much of an effort to make it look like grass (or anything for that matter).... it's just a dark mush with no real shape or definition. It makes all the stones seem like they have very soft edges and creates distracting noise on your texture. Either make the grass right or leave it out and have stones only. The half-ass inbetween-stuff destroys what could otherwise be a great texture ouch..... im sorry man but im not a texture artist . What i thought was a great idea ended up getting me chewed out by lots of people that i liked. i should prob just stop all together and just have some artist do the job for me ..... *broken heart* or you could stop acting like i stabbed your heart and use the crits to work on it and improve. what do you want me to do, tell you that everything you did was right and perfect? It's not. We all have room to improve... I just gave you some advice on where to start. But if you cant handle criticism then yeah maybe you should stop. BTW curman thats nice Quote
General Vivi Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 no i can handle crits , i guess i interpreteded it wrong . sorry . wont happen again and to swifty- i love the scratches on it Quote
h2 Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 Ooghijmiqtxxa: very inspiring textures and name Swifty, I like it! Quote
DaanO Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 Swifty: Good start, but some things in it are too grainy in my most humble opinion. Besides that, the water damage looks fake (maybe group more, blur it a bit?). The trim (not the top one, the pipe thing below) suggests it stands out but then it looks like the whole texture is flat and that just looks weird. Besides that, i'd reduce the dirt on the top trim, nobody ever touched it i guess so why all the dirt / scratches? I think with a few slight changes it could look really cool Quote

Ooghijmiqtxxa Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 Thanks for the kind words guys! I've been busy with school so I haven't been making as many textures as I want plus I'm trying to learn modeling so that's been killing some time as well. Anywhere, here are some other textures I've done awhile ago. More brick stuff Cherry-wood. There's a spec map on these, but no screenshots for it. Quote
Nailed Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 Rough-cut ground, doing some dirtied-up textures for http://www.off-limits.be/ How, man, how did you do it? Looks really great. How about a real quick howyadidit? Quote
hessi Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 before going to bed, i had to do something usefull (instead of math like the rest of the day) so here is a walltexture and an overlay for walls. I've got to improve those bulletholes. they look too cartoony. In the next weeks i want to bring de_corse up to its release and to start something new/create a lot of textures and models. Levels take too much time to be an evening project anyway, i hope you enjoy. Quote

curman Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 Eek, that is a great wood texture, but. Whatever bloom (i think or maybe HDR?) it's really not working, it's making everything appear smoky and blurry :\ Quote
Grinwhrl Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 thats why it looks so cool! Even better in-game Quote
