insta Posted July 29, 2008 Report Posted July 29, 2008 This really sucks to hear, really hope it works out for Starbreeze and Doublefine and of course the other studios affected. Quote
Izuno Posted July 29, 2008 Report Posted July 29, 2008 as painful as this may be in the short run for some people, it often works out for the best in the long run. this doesn't feel like a big surprise. A few months ago I hung out with a bunch of friends from Sierra/Vivendi and they were all assuming every product/brand under their label was up for review. Anyway, I'm still hoping the Ghostbusters game is good and gets good publishing treatment. Quote
skdr Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 http://www.doublefine.com/news.php/proj ... utallegend EA snags Brutal Legend. Quote
Sentura Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 man this is bull... i wish something further along the road would cause a total decline in activision sales. with them doing this to their developers, they don't deserve a single penny from their earnings. whoever said it that we live in a morally unethical universe was right. dux Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 Is vivendi owned by Acti? I musth ave my head in the sand. http://www.doublefine.com/news.php/projects/brutallegend EA snags Brutal Legend. Woot, DRM. I'll be downloading that one, too. Quote
Thrik Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 Hopefully the recent mainstream news coverage about how badly their DRM has blown up in their face will make them reconsider it for future projects. Apparently Spore has broken records as one of the most warezed games ever — talk about opposite the desired effect. Quote
Furyo Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 I don't know if that was the most downloaded game EVER, but it surely was the most downloaded this year, by a really large margin too. Quote
FrieChamp Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 Kudos to EA for expanding their EAP program and keeping on investing into new innovative IPs and independent developers. Especially now that it turns out certain titles underperformed and restructuring measures have been announced. Maybe the deal with Double Fine was signed already months ago? Anyway, Tim Schäfer should be happy! Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 Woot, DRM. I'll be downloading that one, too. There isn't even an announced PC version of it, is there? Psychonauts was so great on PC, I hope Brutal Legend gets a port too, but with the current industry beliefs, it's not certain... Quote
2d-chris Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 This also affects Starbreeze which that articles completely fails to mention, as Riddick is one of the affected Vivendi games, and was also almost completed. Riddick? Didn't that game come out 3 years ago? Don't be riddickulous frie I'll save you the bother Quote
-HP- Posted December 12, 2008 Report Posted December 12, 2008 Hey, I had to model one of those today! Quote
