D3ads Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 That's the best damn looking chair ever made digitally, if that chair were a woman I'd sex her up Quote
-HP- Posted September 23, 2009 Author Report Posted September 23, 2009 Thanks dudes! <3 Unfortunately I didn't even got third, but it was a very good practice run making something like this for a change. Quote
Buddy Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 ":h63lircf]Thanks dudes! <3 Unfortunately I didn't even got third, but it was a very good practice run making something like this for a change. Mostly because you didn't really followed the concept to closely, you would've got better chances if you made that actuall chair, not just a chair Quote
-HP- Posted September 24, 2009 Author Report Posted September 24, 2009 I don't care... I didn't really liked the one from the concept, i wanted to do something more challenging, modelling wise. Quote
dux Posted September 24, 2009 Report Posted September 24, 2009 lol is that what you say to the concept artists at crytek Quote
acapulco Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 It's not business, its fun. So why stick to rules you don't like when not giving a shit about winning a prize? Quote
dux Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 Wow someone has their serious face on. Quote
acapulco Posted September 27, 2009 Report Posted September 27, 2009 Ya, pretty pretty isn't it? ^^ Quote
-HP- Posted December 30, 2009 Author Report Posted December 30, 2009 heh, just something I did at home in a couple of days. the coder I'm living with needs a few sci-fi textures so I'm helping him out. This one in particular It's nothing I'm extremely proud of, still here it is. Quote
Surfa Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 I am not sure the unique detail added justifies the use of three time as much texture space. But other than that the design whereas some generic feels well executed and the final result looks the bomb. Quote
KungFuSquirrel Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 Not your best thing here, but still pretty good. I think both the high point and the low point comes on the plating - the yellow worn look is great and stands out over the rest of the texture, but the thread plating seems strange being a completely different color. Seems like those should all be the same color, with the top of each thread receiving a bit of the worn look, maybe even a bit more of a "polished" look with a lighter color and increased spec on the top where it's been worn down. -HP- Posted January 21, 2010 Author Report Posted January 21, 2010 Thank you very much for all the feedback guys, much appreciated and dully noted. Some stuff I'm doing for the Eclipse mod, I'm helping those guys out with some of the modelling! cheers Quote
e-freak Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 looks good but i think the concept looks more like hexagons when circles. also it seems as if some of the left sided details have a perspective in there (assuming this is for a bake i'd go with a orthogonal projection) also: Is this all floating geometry or how did you go about these lots of small holes? Quote
-HP- Posted January 21, 2010 Author Report Posted January 21, 2010 Yep, that's what rick told me, it needs to have a honeycomb shape, not round thingies And yeah, floaters ftw Quote
Buddy Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 The small gaps need to be fatter, some more hard edges too. And what was said about the circles. Quote
