Zacker
Hey, I thought I should make a post here to say that I resigned as level designer IO effective as of the 29th of August. Some of you have seen it on LinkedIn or heard about it already, so a post for all must be in place. I am leaving to pursue a bachelors degree in Medialogy(http://www.aauk.dk/english). It was no easy decission to make as I have really enjoyed being at IOI and learnt incredible much there. In the few years I have been at IO I have been so lucky to be involved in three different projects, each of them cooler than the other. I do however believe that the time is right for me to study further. If I don't do this now I am afraid that I never will and then regret that in 5-10 years. I always knew that I wanted some further education, I just have never been a 100% sure of when to do it or what to study. The Medialogy course is a quite a broad one as it focuses on combining creativity and technology, that is in particular the technologies behind tv, computergames, music and theater. I really believe that this will be some exciting years and that it's going to be great to fun to do projects like this: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=qghB9C6lqkY Worst thing of course is that I will no longer sitting next to Warby and Mazy everyday:/

Excactly my mindset, my studies are slightly different but I know how you feel! I wish you the best Michael, I hope you'll stick around here though! Furyo
As I said to you by email Michael, I really think this is a great decision you took, one that can only help you in the future. Best of luck with it all, I'm sure you'll do fine and will enjoy a student's life
Hourences
I always find these kinds of decisions weird, but I wish you a lot of good luck nonetheless And being a student is nice:)
hessi
as i am finishing my bachelor degree right now, i can only tell you, that this is a good decision. being at university teaches you a lot. you need to organize your self, force your self to do much stronger research, impress people that know much better than the usual internet guy and the list goes on. imo studying is something that trains you mentally for your life and gives you a wide overview about a certain science discipline. have fun with being a student! Minos
Good luck Zacker, I'm sure it was the right decision (in the long run). I'm thinking exactly the opposite lately: College isn't really challenging me enough anymore, leaving my motivation on the ground. So I've been thinking of putting it on on hold and pursue a games industry job. I can always go back and resume it if I feel like so. Who knows
