st0lve Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 http://www.gametrailers.com/video/claptrap-behind-borderlands/55554 Bale reference? Pretty funny Quote
Izuno Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Borderlands is still reminding me of Stalker. Not the art style, not the story, just the pseudo openness of Stalker and post-apocalyptic setting and the RPG-esque elements. Borderlands seems more open and more RPG, though. I'm drawing a thin comparison to Stalker here but my point is that I loved Stalker and it's making me think I might like this game too having not been able to get my hands on it yet. (Sat in a demo at E3 but obviously it was hands off...thanks Randy! ) Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 Borderlands isn't post-apocalyptic. You're just on an outlying colony world with lots of aliens on it. I mean, when you have a human civilization old enough to have planet colonies there might've been an apocalypse or two somewhere in there, but post-apocalyptic typically means post-society and order, and Borderlands has towns and stores and stuff. The plot isn't that "oh no aliens have killed everybody, fight back and survive", you're a treasure hunter attracted to this alien-filled world specifically for phat loots. Quote

Jetsetlemming Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 There's a big difference in mood and motivation between post-civilization survival and treasure hunting. Quote
