PS_Mouse
I probably should have registered on these forums a while ago... (hola all NS mappers) Anyway, here are some screenies from my current wip These are a week or so old, I'll probably pump out a few more rooms over the next week. SKULLHOZER
WOW, Nice brushwork. I don't play NS much but your map sure looks great. I'd recommend you get a better skymap and water texture though - that would make the map look twice as good! Good Job!!
tnoh
Most impressive! That one room is too red though..
jaardsi
That one room is too red though.. Agreed.
Section_Ei8ht
that is some damn fine brushwork!
Evert
Very cool design over all, I like it.
denzil
Looking real nice, keep it up Small Crits: - The aformentioned (spelling? lol) red room, - The lighting in first few shots looks pretty bland, no real depth or nice shadowing, make it a little darker too, comon its NS
Fletch
your hallways are the s3x.
PS_Mouse
That Room Ah, yes, that one I'm going to take a stab and say you're talking about the 4th screenie (the one with all the red lighting ); in which case: That's the little alcove the hive rests in, so I didn't want to make the lighting too varied (large model + circus lighting = bleh). Although since so many people are mentioning it I may slap some white light_spots up the walls.
Minos
looking good mouse, but the lighting could have more work
OL
i remember the good old days when they built giant space stations economically, but recently theyve been spending way too much on wall supports and colored lights :\
EviLTaxi
that is some damn fine brushwork! lighting is pretty cool too imho! the brushwork is nice but one small thing I noticed are the cables in the hallway!(first pic) you've placed them in different heights, right? well that's good but you could also use another texture for some of the cables to make it look more natural! PS_Mouse
You people are so picky... (I'm loving it ) EvilTaxi: Yeah, I did place the cables at different hieghts (I also thought I staggered the horizontal alignment of the textures, apparently not), the reason I haven't used different textures for them is that I'm not sure how many MB of textures the map will use when it's finished; if I have enough room to use multiple cable textures I probably will. OL: Aye, that's the way it is these days. Why I remember when we had to walk 15 miles in the snow to build giant space stations, none of this fancy arki-tek-chur shit. And at the end of the day, when we'd finished work on the giant space station, we had to lick it clean before walking back home. And I'll be damned if we didn't love every minute of it. Algor
Do you have any cool hidden areas so I can hide my defense towers? And any cool platforms to set up offense towers?
Taylor
i remember the good old days when they built giant space stations economically, but recently theyve been spending way too much on wall supports and colored lights :\ That's because the older ones were depressing and collapsed. It looks nice, but it does look a bit like ns_*
