Wolfenstein sold only around 106,000 units in the five days from its August 25 launch to August 29, when NPD's monthly reporting period ended.

So looks like this is just from the first 5 days? I know we have sold more than that. I'm also not surprised at the pc number.... over 45k people were torrenting it that first week my sources tell me XD

and the whole stuff about Endrant and the Raven layoffs didn't do anything good for confidence either.

That's far from being one of the reasons why It's selling so badly, gamers don't care if the employees are layed off.

It's too bad though, but I have to admit I saw it coming. I bought my copy on the week it came out, and I'm half way trough the game. So far it's a so-so game, the hospital level was pretty good though!

it's the exteriors that are a bit of a disappointment. The interiors can look pretty good though! (Typical D3 engine based game syndrome)

Just out of curiosity, what would (general) numbers be to consider something to have sold bad/decent/great in a 5 day period? cause 106,000 definitely isn't good, but the whole only being from 5 days makes me wonder more precisely how bad it was in comparison...

Depending on how much (or little) they spent on making the game 106k copies in one week could actually be good. Wolfenstein doesn't strike me as an AAA title, it sure didn't get AAA advertising.

I said it didn't help, I wasn't impying it was a big issue. It's not that "Oh, we're so offended by their actions of downsizing we won't support them", it's that the small percentage of us gamers who follow the news heard about the layoffs and closings and took it as a sign of a lack of confidence on activision's part in the game.

Immidate Selling stop of Wolfenstein In Germany :shock:

I just heard about this here at crytek, and the reason is like... OMFG! Aparently all the nazi symbols had to be removed from the game to be comercialized here in germany, thing is, they forgot to remove this one from the german version:

Result? Game was completely pulled back from all stores!

For those curious, here's the diference between the manly version, and the krau.. i mean german version:
