Gloglebag Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 I liked the game. Personally I would have enjoyed it if the story was taken a little further and was better, but most don't play wolf for the story, still imo it would have fitted. Graphics are nice but could have used more color, to much brown. Personally didn't like the veil that much, I enjoyed the gameplay enhancements but i don't want to be in all green mode when I'm causing destruction. I wanna see it in color. I enjoyed the scavenge hunt in the hubs but not in the missions since you have to replay them fully if you miss something, not just go back to a specific part. Length of the game was fine imo. It kind of left me with the same feelings as I had for Prey, it seems like I should have liked it more considering what it offered, but it just didn't fully click with me. Also I used trainers, because to give me infinite ammo and more money, so could fuck with every weapon when I liked. It made the game better imo, also had a bit of fun with infinite veil. Quote
D3ads Posted August 25, 2009 Report Posted August 25, 2009 Does this have any kind of DRM on it? If not, I'm gonna get it on Friday. Quote
Hipshot Posted August 26, 2009 Report Posted August 26, 2009 I haven't read everything people wrote here, but my take on the game is very divided. Gameplay in no specific order: + Upgrade weapons + Early game feels Indiana Jones and Mohaa-ish. + Blood + Gibs +Jew-Gold for YOUR personal wealth is widespread in the game. - Upgrades needs to be unlocked by mission. A better design would probably be to have them unlocked from the beginning but have less gold and other ways to get money in the game. - If you don't upgrade the weapons, they feel and play pretty useless. - Feedback in weapons, upgraded or not could have been better. - It's almost impossible to decapitate Nazis with early weaponry. - Some weapons you just want to throw away and never be able to pickup again. - Veil, while still being a cool feature, might have been better for another game. - Enemies pretty much always respawns when you get back to an area. - Why do people like the Airport mission so much? - Stealth parts could have been done much better, there's really no need for it now. - View bobing is the worst in the biz. it's like they add much to make it more realistic, but instead it becomes more unrealistic. Better to leave it at default then. Graphics in no specific order: + Can look VERY good at some inside places, it's like being inside a Commandos game (not the FPS one though =)). - Can look VERY bad at some outside places, looks worse than mohaa and this is today. - The Color of blood feels pretty accurate, but could be a bit darker still. Section_Ei8ht Posted August 26, 2009 Report Posted August 26, 2009 Does this have any kind of DRM on it? If not, I'm gonna get it on Friday. SecuROM 7.4 (from what I can tell), but it's not the obtrusive SecuROM (like what was originally in Bioshock or Mass Effect). This SecuROM just makes sure disk is in the drive when you start playing it. I'm an anti DRM freak, and I'm cool with it. As for the game itself goes, i have to admit I'm a little disappointed. Most of my criticisms have already been mentioned: the weapons just feel wonky, and I'm really not seeing the need for the Veil. I played it for a few hours after I got it, but I just couldn't stay in the game. I'll pick it up again soon and give it another go. Quote
Sentura Posted August 26, 2009 Report Posted August 26, 2009 yeah this thread has convinced my already convinced self even more that this game was never worth getting.. Quote

I'm 4 hours into the game already. Having some fun with this, finally, after that problem with the mouse sens. Game's far from being perfect, but I'm finding it average at best. Quote
D3ads Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 Gonna postpone my purchase to play through RTCW again beforehand, might be old but it still looks pretty nice in places, I love the Nazi skins, so detailed Quote
