Minos Posted May 22, 2012 Report Posted May 22, 2012 Are you guys rushing through the game or something? I'm currently level 30 and still halfway through the third act o___O Quote
arhurt Posted May 22, 2012 Report Posted May 22, 2012 That`s where I died so I`m around the same place as you where. I take my time to explore and fully clear each area, so I may be considered "slow" =P But level 30 around halfway act3 sounds like right to me Quote
Sprony Posted May 22, 2012 Report Posted May 22, 2012 It took me 25 hours to finish my solo run, so yeah, it's about correct. When you play coop it goes much faster. My coop character is almost in Act 4 and that only took 8 hours. Plus, no more exploration the second playthrough. Quote
Sprony Posted May 22, 2012 Report Posted May 22, 2012 My second character is a Demon Hunter. As soon as you find two decent one handed bows and unlock rapid fire, they got nothing on you. Quote
Skjalg Posted May 22, 2012 Report Posted May 22, 2012 Are you guys rushing through the game or something? I'm currently level 30 and still halfway through the third act o___O Then you have like 4 hours to go. We basically spent an hour on act 4, half an hour in nightmare with 4 players. Quote
Marvin.Star Posted May 22, 2012 Report Posted May 22, 2012 I just got D3 !!! Can't wait to dive into this tonight !! Quote
Zyn Posted May 22, 2012 Report Posted May 22, 2012 My second character is a Demon Hunter. As soon as you find two decent one handed bows and unlock rapid fire, they got nothing on you. but then, when you get Multishot, with Fire At Will rune ... everything in your path blows to pieces for a good while Quote
Sprony Posted May 22, 2012 Report Posted May 22, 2012 Yeah, that's true. Not to forget vault to get out of the way Quote
Taylor Posted May 23, 2012 Report Posted May 23, 2012 Well, I wasn’t expecting the Wizard or Demon Hunter to be anything but face-roll. But it strikes me that melee are completely unequipped to deal with what goes on in late Hell and beyond. Basically at this point everyone is a ranged class. The monster damage output is so deadly melee can no longer wade through monster packs and need to do hit-and-run tactics. This means navigating through instant-kill minefields of poison, fire and laser beams to get close, trading a few low-damage blows, because they need to be decked out for survival, and then try to escape back through the shit. They are also much more likely to be dealt a bad hand with elite packs. One thing that I find rather disconcerting about the Monk is many of the healing abilities do not scale at all. Breath of Heaven, Mantra of Healing, Transcendence, and many runes just offer flat amounts of healing which is already borderline negligible when you first hit 60. It’s vanilla WoW casters all over again. Quote
Skjalg Posted May 23, 2012 Report Posted May 23, 2012 I had an AWESOME time with my barbarian all through normal and nightmare and the first act of hell. I was playing with my brother and two of my friends. There was two monks and one wizard + me. I specced tank and just stood there taunting and stunning packs while receiving two heals all the time. Then the lan party ended and I tried to continue on act II by myself. I just had to respec some skills and i demolished most creeps. Then I hit 3 blue and i died and died and died and died. Everything Molten, plagued, frozen, jailor kills me. Basically everything that can hold me in place or has an aoe that i cant stand in kills me right away. Whenever I meet anything like this I have to kite for what seems like hours only to trade in shitty blows and if the elites are extra health or vampiric I might as well quit trying. Quote
Skacky Posted May 23, 2012 Report Posted May 23, 2012 I'm playing a Barbarian and I'm currently in the Highlands in Act I in Nightmare. I die to most of the Plagued/Waller/Jailor/Molten mobs but most of the time I bash them too fast for them to kill me. I also just stood and killed Leoric outright withough needing a single potion. I'm quite afraid of Act II since I died a lot to the sand wasps in Normal though. Quote
Zyn Posted May 23, 2012 Report Posted May 23, 2012 Ok, made it to Act II on Inferno ... and holy fucking hell, the first mobs just rips me a new asshole. I need a hell of a lot more vitality apparently... Quote
