-HP- Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 Warning, possible spoilers, stay out of this thread if you didn't played Crysis yet, or if you'r under a slow connection! Working with CryEngine2 myself on a daily basis, always looking at the same assets, environments, etc, the magic of this game kind of faded away... But some dude over at crymod has taken a bunch of amazingly high quality screenshots, perfect for use as a wallpaper or artwork, or purely viewing pleasure! I loved this pics so much, I've decided to create a thread just to show case them! It's amazing how ALL this is real time! All praise PC gaming! Quote
dux Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 Oh wow. What config settings did he use to get these I have to play the game again with it. I just showed these to my mate and he is sure they are not in game shots lol. 3dsm apaprently Quote
-HP- Posted June 16, 2008 Author Report Posted June 16, 2008 Well, being very active in the Crysis community myself, and knowing the engine well, and how my config looks, I can bet he used my Ultra High Quality Config. Quote
Seldoon182 Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 There is no way, this engine is really impressive ! Thanks you [HP] ! Quote
Nexus Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 that's sick.. uh mind blowing. he used dual 9800 cards for sure Quote
-HP- Posted June 16, 2008 Author Report Posted June 16, 2008 mmm, no, he used the "e_screenshot = 1" command! Which, basically generates a high res pic of the current frame. Quote
dux Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 So does that mean it doesnt look that good in game, it just makes it look nicer in a screenshot? Quote
-HP- Posted June 16, 2008 Author Report Posted June 16, 2008 Yes, and no... What that command does, is grab every 512*512px portion of the current frame, render it with perfect AA and "glue" all the small portions toguether into a single high resolution image. It does'nt mean it does'nt look like that, because it does, it just look a lot more clean in the screenshot because of the perfect AA. It's like, if you take a picture with a good camera, and rescale the original 2048*2048 picture to 1024*1024, the result will be a much cleaner image. Quote
Buddy Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 He used standard config and custom TOD settings as you can read on crymod apparently. Also this game doesn't look like that when you play @1024 or 1280 it looks this awesome when you actually resize from 2560 to 1280. Quote
-HP- Posted June 16, 2008 Author Report Posted June 16, 2008 He used standard config and custom TOD settings as you can read on crymod apparently. Oh, really? Damn, epic fail! Also this game doesn't look like that when you play @1024 or 1280 it looks this awesome when you actually resize from 2560 to 1280. What I said. Quote
FrieChamp Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 Oh cool, 8 screenshots from my map! Not always from the best angle, but still cool. Thanks for sharing! Quote
-HP- Posted June 16, 2008 Author Report Posted June 16, 2008 Yeah, the Core map is unbelievably beautiful dude! And very well designed for a linear level, you did a wonderful job! Quote
Inveramsay Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 So it was supposed to look like that, bummer. At least I managed to run it on med/low with a geforce GO 7600, hehe, probably not my ideal weapon of choice Quote
Zeta Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 Oh cool, 8 screenshots from my map! Not always from the best angle, but still cool. Thanks for sharing! Did you make the meshes in that map or were you using them? Quote
-HP- Posted June 16, 2008 Author Report Posted June 16, 2008 He was level designer, not environment artist. Quote
