Thrik Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 I really can't imagine them introducing nothing new in Warhead. Just because it looks the same superficially doesn't mean it's a clone. Look how good past efforts like Opposing Force have been, albeit as expansions (could have easily been standalone though). I don't care either way and will probably never play it, but it seems like you're being a bit excessively critical of something Crysis fans will probably lap up. They're not marketing it as a full-blown sequel, having gone so far as to say it's not the second game in the planned Crysis trilogy. Quote
-HP- Posted August 17, 2008 Author Report Posted August 17, 2008 Yeh, if valve made something like this, (which they did, and they still do EP1/2/3) half of mapcore would go, OMGZORZ THIS WILL PWN! Quote
e-freak Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 difference being to my Episode I get a fullblown multiplayer and the best puzzle game ever made. and it costs me less than 5 hours of crysis-sp. edit: i don't know how long warhead is but I suppose it not to be longer than the original game (10 hours). FrieChamp Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 So what's the point of this comparison? What are you going to do - buy Episode 2 a second time? If at all, you could compare Warhead to add-ons for the original Half-Life or an addon everybody seems to have collectively forgotten about - Episode 1. If you want to play more Crysis singleplayer, know more about the story, use some new vehicles, weapons and play new crysis multipler modes - buy Warhead. If you didn't like Crysis - chances are you won't like Warhead. All this said judging from the released information about the game that is available. The price tag of 30 € is alright in my opinion, new consumers don't need to buy the original Crysis to run the game and the game itself isn't as expensive as a full title. Let's not fool ourselves - most people are going to pirate it anyway statement> Quote
e-freak Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 yes you're right on some of the points but I still think that if i want to have the full story and I've gotta pay 80 bucks for the whole package after the original title has been released nearly a year ago (and so still no pricedrop) it's a bit much. and I fear crytek will stop supporting the game as well. There's something why I'd buy every blizzard game (and every valve game) blind because I know I'll get my support even if the game turns 10 years old and it ain't treated like an unwanted child, rejected after the release (well 3 patches after the release). madgernader Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 Wow, I'm surprised you haven't seen a price drop... I picked up my copy of crysis last week for $36 new vs the $50 price tag when it came out... Quote
