Seldoon182 Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 Well Farcry2 doesn't seems to fit with Farcry... Btw the engine looks damn cool but the devs need more time to enhance the empty gameplay thought ! Quote
Inveramsay Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 What engine is it running on? Anyhow, looks amazing, very amazing. Good thing I'm buying a new computer later this year Only thing that bothered me was the lod's snapping early on. Well, well, first trailer I guess. Quote
Thrik Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 It's a proprietary engine as far as I'm aware. It's definitely a far cry from Far Cry, but then it does seem to keep the real defining characteristic of the original: an absolutely massive area that you can approach in many different ways. Quote

Furyo Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 The engine is Nomad, and it's a revamped version of the original CryEngine (heavily modified). I personally only hold my expectations for it to be some above average title due to the fact Clint Hocking is the creative director. Quote

I believe Ubisoft is calling it the Dunia engine, and it uses very minimal code from CryEngine. Quote
Thrik Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Furyo does work for Ubisoft, so I guess they're saying it's the Nomad engine now. Unless he's just mistaken, which can happen. Quote
Jenn0_Bing Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 I did not know that . But, most of their new videos (as recent as May 28th) they have the "Dunia Engine" logo on the front. Thats what i was basing my comment off, and an interview i read somewhere. Quote
FrieChamp Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Yea a quick google search proves that, but I also remember them using the "nomad" title for the engine some time ago. Maybe they changed it because the Crysis hero's nickname is "Nomad" Quote
