I envy you... :( Word's cannot describe how sad I am because I can't play this game on day 1! emot_shakehead.gif

Ah fuck it... I'll play Oblivion until my PS3 comes back from Sony, fixed.

Uh, semi slight spoiler, but what the fuck is up with the start of the game?!

Live action cyber cooking show?!

Obviously it must be on purpose, but what a crappy way to start a game (Unless its explained later on :)). Was good once it started tho, many cutscenes :D. Only played it for about 40m tho :G

Been playing it the entire evening, good stuff, really dig the new controls. Playing the game on Normal (Not Naked Normal or whatever that other one is called), it is extremely easy to play it like a shooter this time around, even though Otacon tells you its a stealth mission then I found myself just shooting dudes most of the time since it was so much fun :D.

Lots of Apple product placement as well :o

I reset the ps3 a couple times thinking i sat on the remote or something, its not just the cooking show the exercise program on the channel up = O.o though the adverts are good,

hang around on the mainmenu screen til he kneels down then it goes into an awesome FMV albeit a 5 minute wait for a 30 second FMV about im not sure what but regardless, awesome xD

Finished it earlier today, good stuff.

The plot does end up getting fairly confusing towards the end (much like with MGS2), and I definitely feel a need to play it again just to get everything right. The first half of the game is by far the best in my opinion, where as the second feels just a bit too focused on the story and the gameplay suffers as a result. Which is a shame because it almost feels like a completely different game in that department this time around. It actually feels good to play it like a shooter and as a stealth game. I found myself switching throughout the game and both methods always worked great. Ending was pretty good, tons of fake endings too, obviously

;).

Its not a 10/10 though, IGN and Gamespot must be on crack. More like a 9'ish :)

Well, a game like this always have a special touch on fan's heart's! I dunno if you have been following the MGS saga all this years, but for those who did, this one is the most important of them all! hence the good amount of 10/10's out there, because most of the people who are reviewing it, were already fans of the saga.

For fans, playing this final MGS, is like having multiple gamer orgasm in a row! :P

I've been playing all the proper games since the first MGS, and I'd consider myself a fan. However in terms of story I think MGS2 and 3 hit me harder than 4 did, where as gameplay wise it is a huge improvement over the old games. Regardless then this is another conversation, I just find myself questioning IGN and Gamespot reviews value to me, if this is what they define as the very top of the scale.

Its a good game that needs to played, thats all that matters ;)

Haha, on the Kotaku comments for that video, you can easily tell which people are MGS fan-boys and which aren't.

Here's an example of the said MGS fanboy:

"I didn't laugh once. Didn't even crack a smile. Metal Gear Solid is in a league of its own and this game does not deserve to be joking about MGS."

Personally though, I loved the video! :celebrate:
