Sentura Posted March 7, 2014 Report Posted March 7, 2014 (edited) Non ref cards don't have the reference design because it would be more costly to make them. Thus you get cheaper, non-replaceable parts on non refs, and you're locked into whatever configuration the manufacturer has set for you. By contrast you can pretty much do anything to a ref card, including flashing its bios, replacing coolers yourself etc. In other words, if your card goes faulty after the warranty expires, you're pretty much fucked if you don't have a ref card. This combined with the fact that you can't sure the cooling doesn't always cool the card properly on non refs is pretty much the reason I never get them anymore. Edited March 7, 2014 by Sentura Quote

Sentura Posted March 10, 2014 Report Posted March 10, 2014 Where do you buy/what companies make reference VGAs? @sentura: is that the 12" cintiq? That's a companion, I have a 12" Cintiq I need to sell... Quote
blackdog Posted March 10, 2014 Report Posted March 10, 2014 Oh wow. I was puzzled by all those ports... i'm not up to speed at all with these products, didn't even know they were making tablets now. Is it 13" enough to paint? How much you ask for the Cintiq? I can try asking a friend. Quote
Sentura Posted March 11, 2014 Report Posted March 11, 2014 Ah I think I'll keep it within the city as it is easier to sell in person than it is internationally. And yeah, 12" was enough. Quote

blackdog Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 non chiclet keyboard peasant! Is it better for gaming as well? All the reviews about clicking keyboards i have read were from people-who-write point of view (web designers, coders, journalists) Quote
Sentura Posted April 3, 2014 Report Posted April 3, 2014 I always hated regular keyboards because they keys aren't properly spaced. Especially if you panic (e.g. in a multiplayer game) you run a high risk of not exactly hitting the right keys. That risk is reduced drastically with chiclet keys. I can still use regular keyboards, but I vastly prefer chiclets as they make life so much easier. blackdog 1 Quote
