2d-chris Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 Ohnoes 2d has released a new map! ok it's beta but i'm still pretty excited, and look so is chuck! Right seriously check out the screenshots! I'm not all that happy with some of the visuals, but the purpose of this release is to find out if the map is fun and of course zap the amazon rainforests worth of bugs there will no doubt be. To download head over to http://www.2d-chris.com (Ok i'd link the downloads here but I'm a forum newb and I can't remember the link code) Or you can download the map directly from the Mapcore TF2 maps server, for the meanwhile I'm just running yeehaw ... Cheers, all crits, comments and slices of cake are welcome. Quote
-HP- Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 I will definitely check this one out! Yeehaw! lol Oh btw, I just added you to my blog roll! (http://www.helderpinto.com/blog/) Quote
Thrik Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 Very nice. My favourite part is that the style is a bit distinct from your typical TF2 look. I think a lot of Valve's TF2 maps are really looking samey (it was OK at first, but Dustbowl, Badlands, and Goldrush are sooo similar-looking). Quote
Acumen Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 pllllz, only people who have to hide something, post tiny mapshots bigger resolution plz, since i don't have tf2 but want to see the map in a proper resolution cause it looks nice from the shots, as far as i can tell. just soooo tiny Quote
Minos Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 Great work 2d, it looks very pleasant I can't really comment on the gameplay because I ain't got TF2 yet Quote
m8nkey Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 Downloaded it and it looks great. I'll reserve my comments till I've had a game on it though. Quote
Deathy Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 I can't really comment on the gameplay because I ain't got TF2 yet Valve lowered the price for TF2/Orangebox (over Steam), maybe just in time to get it mino? Very nice looking map there (from the screens).. will test it later. Quote
-HP- Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 Great work 2d, it looks very pleasant I can't really comment on the gameplay because I ain't got TF2 yet You got a free weekend! Go and try it, if you havent already... Quote
Thrik Posted May 10, 2008 Report Posted May 10, 2008 I've just scheduled an event for this map at 6:35 GMT today here: 194.154.191.8:27017 Hopefully will fill the server up. Come join if you see this. Edit: Went pretty well, got about 20 people in there. Just left it after an hour with 10 people still playing. Everyone seemed to enjoy it, and more importantly knew where to go and what to do. I did notice soldiers hurting me through the start-up gate when it was closed, though. Gorion mentioned a bug too, although he didn't say what. Quote
2d-chris Posted May 11, 2008 Author Report Posted May 11, 2008 I need to do some balancing changes, currently the first CP is really easy to capture, as it takes the defending team too long to reach it, from my experiences if enough engineers go on the ceiling level at A it can be one hell of a blood bath, I got 12 turrets kills in one life up there lol Hopefully in the next week I will have time to work on quite a few issues Quote
Gorion Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 yeah i noticed a bug idd, but maybe its me. It was a problem when on the bridge, shooting someone who is on the other end, my bullets weren't hitting him. I was a sniper, and i am pretty sure i was hitting the guy. Still need to do a test when someone is not moving, maybe it was lagg or whatever. Quote
Yokai Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 hmmm, looking pretty good in the screnshots. I'll give a test run when I get home. Quote
