dux Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 I love it! It's so much better than Stalker was on release. Though if anything, it seems to be too populated now. Everywhere you go there are Stalkers and there seems to be a lack of mutants. Sure there are a few mutants here and there, but not as many as in the original (as far as I remember). The graphics are superior and the gameplay is superior, which makes this game superior in my books! Buddy, what did you work on in Clear Sky? This is before the massive blowout don't forget so it should be more populated along with less mutants, really. Quote
st0lve Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 Two questions: How do I join a faction (in SHOC)? I've got all the Duty guys friends with me somehow, but I'm still in the group "loner" and nobody's forwarding me an invite. Second: What's the blue lung bar on the equipment screen for? Do more missions I think. Then you could ask them. ps. duty sucks, freedom rocks! Quote

Plus, Freedom haven't approached me or talking to me in any way except for a brief visit to talk to their cook. They're out of the way. Missable. Duty I have to walk past a few dozen of every time I go to the Bar. It would be SUCH a hassle to side with Freedom. (Next game! ) Quote

I'm on stalker staff but not on clear sky which means... Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 Nothing. I'm on stalker staff but not on clear sky which means... I for one hope STALKER 2 is set in the 1920's and based on the Tunguska event. Or maybe you can partner with a Japanese studio and make a JRPG set in Nagasaki and Hiroshima! Edit: American Midwest, 1940's, Manhattan Project. Quote

Buddy Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 No actually. I was cleaning toilets to be exact. Quote
PogoP Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 You mean, giving tips on good oral hygiene? Quote
Buddy Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 HP is the oral guy. I am the anal toilet cleaner. Quote
st0lve Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 Hmmmpf, after more playing, I realized that the occurring emissions will crash the game if you leave the sector when it first pops up, problem is, that you got like a 5 hour notice, and 5 hours is quite some time when you are just passing by that sector.. Great reuse of old territories, it does kinda actually feel like you are there before Strelok (LOL NUB FINISH THE GAME) in SoC. And I didn't manage to get to join Clear Sky, the base commander didn't really want to talk to me and the quests in the area doesn't give enough for me to keep staying there. However, I was able to join the Stalker faction, offers from both Freedom and Duty aswell. I don't think it's bugged, I think it's just because my rating have dropped with them. Now, let's try to play some more Btw buddy, any word on ww1.2 patch? Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 I just found out STALKER has a "mental health" bar. Now I want to make a STALKER Shadowrun Total Conversion. Seriously, it would work. Only thing you'd need to add is a spell inventory screen (easy), karma and stats (pretty easy), and matrix (Erm...). You've already got moody, futuristic supernatural mercenary behavior in a lawless land setting! Come to think of it, there are even more similarities between STALKER and the Genesis version of Shadowrun than I at first though. STALKER is basically 3d Shadowrun with Russian dialog and radiation, if you break it down. Quote
st0lve Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 UGGG. I want the patch now. I cannot really get anywhere without it... Why aren't the 1.503 patch listed on the stalker page? I mean it's not like it's a supprise that a game needs updates? Also, how come the ruskies get all the inside info from gsc devs on the forums, along side with priority releases of patches etc.? I mean it's really frustrating to sit around and wait for a patch that the russian dudes got, it's not like we don't care to play the game enough to finish it... I did find some 1.504 patch\crack eng translation, but I wouldn't risk fucking up my game (save games doesn't count) by doing that, but I'm really close to doing it since this is getting annoying. Quote
Buddy Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Dont use the ported rus 1.504 as its breaking the game and you wont be able to do too much Quote
