Buddy Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Guys don't play before you patch it up to 1.504 (patch 1.2) since both this and previous patch (1.503, patch 1) break savegames and bring a lot of fixes that will make your life easier Quote
dux Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Have they ever like, considered maybe making the game less buggy and stable before releasing it? I know that sounds pretty whoa and out there! Like a stable and relatively un-buggy 1st release these days? Whoa I must be talking out my ass. All I ever seem to do these days with my games is patch them more than play them. Quote
Jenn0_Bing Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Is patch 1.2 even out yet, i cant find it anywhere . Quote
st0lve Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 does one of the fixes make you able to put pso1 scopes on AK series rifles? Or am I too dumb to understand the new way of equipping scopes? and yeah, is 1.2 out? Quote
Buddy Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Complete list of fixes is on the stalker website but the update is out only for Ruskies so far The 1.2 WW patch should be out soon. Quote
-HP- Posted September 8, 2008 Author Report Posted September 8, 2008 This is why I'm loving my console even more. This patches thingy on PC gaming is getting annoying! there's almost no point on buying a PC game on day one because of bugs! Quote
e-freak Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Well, but if there's someone like Valve giving you additional content every here and when you will bite your ass for having a closed system, esp if you're using the 360 and Microsoft makes you pay 10 bucks for the (PC-Users) free content! Erratic Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 ":1pyht4bg]This is why I'm loving my console even more. This patches thingy on PC gaming is getting annoying! there's almost no point on buying a PC game on day one because of bugs! Meh, console games still get day 1 patches and are more buggy than they have been in the past (arguably). I can name 3 games released in the last 2 months that have shipped with rather obvious issues. (Ninja Gaiden 2, Too Human, Mercenaries 2). It seems this generation people are really preoccupied with bugs, frame rate, resolutions and all the technical crap that's sort of been transparent/ignored previously. Not calling you out specifically HP, just an observation. Quote
-HP- Posted September 8, 2008 Author Report Posted September 8, 2008 yeah Erratic, I know what you mean. Thing is, when a company is developing a title exclusively for a console, it tends to be more careful about bugs because they know they cannot patch if after the release. (although nowadays consoles have internet acess and games can also be patched, but still...) Quote
st0lve Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 After my first few hours of Clear sky, I must say that I love it! And I don't care if I have to do it again due to patches, cause I can just choose another path Pros: - Great selection of factions, Freedom is atleast improved, haven't seen Duty yet. - Awesome graphics, looks like what you'd expect eastern bloc countries to look like in a video game. - Lots of side quests (maybe too many "help outpost\base\camp" ?) - No bugs so far D:!!!!!! - Nice new hud (very minimalistic, takes some time to get used to). - FUCKING HARD (AI), great use of grenades and stuff. - Nice "follow up" on SoC, for the main mission line that is. Cons: - If you don't like Stalker SoC you probably wouldn't like this game. - Easy to get good weapons. Quote

As for your last point In 1.503 there is a bug that causes camp stashes to fill with unlimited amounts of ammo and other goodies hahaha Quote
st0lve Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 I wish I had stocked up on ALL the bandages I have found so far, I only carried like 20 in SoC, and I had 30 when I left freedom, after some missions etc. I'm down to 0. Great. And the cost like 200 each D:! Ammo haven't been a problem so far for me (I use a fully upgraded cruiser and a TR301 which I plan to make a sniper like rifle). So far so good, had 1 crash, no error message, nothing. Just quit to windows without any more hassle like "ERROR YOUR GAME SUCKZ!" or whatever. Might have been a Vista "block" or something. Didn't matter, since I saved just before it happened. I figured out the AK problem, get to a gunsmith that will work on AKs, and get the scope mount strange, since all AK74 have PSO mounts on the left side of the gun (right ingame)... Didn't try it out though, since I didn't have an AK at the time. Think I might have found a "critical" bug: (or I might just be dumb ) When I got to Yantar, I got the message to help the scientist lab, and I did kill all the zombified stalkers and what not. So outside the lab there is my marker icon. The door will NOT open, I've tried about everything, reloading, leaving the area etc. etc. What I haven't done is to go up to X16 (SoC name) and see if there are more zombies, doubt that it will help since I got a message that said that I had finished helping them. Any idea about what the problem might be buddy? Quote
PogoP Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 I love it! It's so much better than Stalker was on release. Though if anything, it seems to be too populated now. Everywhere you go there are Stalkers and there seems to be a lack of mutants. Sure there are a few mutants here and there, but not as many as in the original (as far as I remember). The graphics are superior and the gameplay is superior, which makes this game superior in my books! Buddy, what did you work on in Clear Sky? Quote
Jetsetlemming Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 I'm getting annoyed by the static respawning of guys in certain areas, like the bandits outside the train station in Garbage. It's like there's some huge bandit base between Agropom and Garbage not on the map intent on trickling guys into the nearby areas whenever I come near so they can throw their lives away. Whenever I return to the Agropom underground the area where I fought the controller is restocked with soldiers, which is just perplexing- I liked the way X18 worked better. I returned to the factory overtop it a couple days after I did that mission, and do I find it restocked with bandits? No! It now has a giant army of rats, pseudodogs, and bloodsuckers! There were a few bandits at their base on the northern side of Dark Valley, but they were very busy trying to fend off a large pack of dogs and psuedodogs when I stopped by. Two questions: How do I join a faction (in SHOC)? I've got all the Duty guys friends with me somehow, but I'm still in the group "loner" and nobody's forwarding me an invite. Second: What's the blue lung bar on the equipment screen for? Quote
