DelaZ Posted October 8, 2004 Author Report Posted October 8, 2004 I hate you all for doing something that unoriginal with a team THAT skilled :-? ok ok, its original twist in an unoriginal concept, but anyways~ gonna be the new cs, only with better gfx  It's not because two opposite teams with modern weapons fight each other in a game that it's called CS.. let's take TF2 for example, which is also made by Valve. curman Posted October 8, 2004 Report Posted October 8, 2004 Nice stuff. Also Vampire-Slayer mod was in some German magazine recently >.> [hijak] http://www.planethalflife.com/vampire/vs_pcaction_de_640.jpg [/hijak] Quote
Algor Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 Looks nice, but the theme is not something I care much about. And the one MAJOR problem with all realism games... will it be fun? Quote
Argyll Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 Looks nice, but the theme is not something I care much about. And the one MAJOR problem with all realism games... will it be fun? For us, Gameplay outweighs Realism. We will ensure that it will be fun and have strong gameplay... or else what's the point of playing? P.S. Thanks Izuno Switch is my favourite map :x Quote

And thats because you got an modern combat, with real weapons but still trying to keep it fun yet abit realistic (like cs?). And you said that gameplay outweighs realism, thats the "cs factor" (atleast that is what I think). My guess is that if you had the same team, but another theme (which isn't that known), then your mod would be 200% less popular, but hey, its not always bad to be popular, and your team rocks as I said above. Also Vampire-Slayer mod was in some German magazine recently >.> [hijak] http://www.planethalflife.com/vampire/vs_pcaction_de_640.jpg [/hijak] lol...why'd you want to put vampire slayer in a magazine.... its an original idea yes, but the graphics suck monkey anus. sorry for going off topic thats great you guys got in pc gamer, things look good, hope it works out for you Quote
von*ferret Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 Same reason why you'd want to put an unoriginal idea with neat renders into a magazine. or not, but correlating the two mods is not the point of my post is it. Quote

No offense, but Insurgency just looks like another high-detailed military mod. I wub Vampire Slaya. Quote
Kedhrin Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 don't get me wrong, i liked vampire slayer, it was incredibly original, and i could play it all night leaping forward after silly humans. i guess the reason why i'm so mad is because i offered to help them with models (when i sucked major dick anus) and they declined lol. curman Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 Its just as simple as Counter-Strike. Yeah, the mod community/developer is all friends, thats probably why. Routetwo was the coder, Lily the mapper (his wife), and the modeller was some relation to him I think. Quote
FrieChamp Posted October 10, 2004 Report Posted October 10, 2004 Routetwo was the coder, Lily the mapper (his wife), and the modeller was some relation to him I think. A nerd marriage, how cute. "Hey darling, we should spend some more time together." -"Yea absolutely. Wanna make a Half-Life MOD about vampires?" "Sure!" Quote
Duff-e Posted October 10, 2004 Report Posted October 10, 2004 think rainbow six realism make it NOTHING like that Quote
Taylor Posted October 10, 2004 Report Posted October 10, 2004 Team Fortress 2 is scarily close to CS when you consider just what the other incarnations Team Fortress have been like since its birth on Quake. TF2 isn't really a good example because everyone who liked the various versions of TF cried blood when reading the description - about how it is now deadly realistic with slow movement, high damage, armoured vehicles, controlled bursts of fire, rocket launchers with one shot and little emphasis on symmetrical forts with flags in them. Done obviously to fit the fad of realism, because people aren’t happy these days unless it’s two teams fighting with realistic weapons, damage and settings - because intuition and imaginative ideas are depreciated, as people might actually have to play one game slightly different than the thousand others it closely resembles.
