e-freak Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 i see what you did there well - good photos, I'm not too impressed by the fireworks one (though I know they are hard to catch but Fireworks-Fotos are always all or nothing) - maybe it's just a little bit too bright. the portrait of the old guy on the other hand is superb. I don't know why but I like the way the picture is composed (colorwise and DOF) Quote
JeanPaul Posted August 30, 2008 Author Report Posted August 30, 2008 Well thanks I would post more but nah you guys dont care bscly Quote

I think you don't get a lot of reactions because there isn't much to say about your photo's except for the fact that they look awesome and really professional... Quote

JeanPaul Posted September 24, 2008 Author Report Posted September 24, 2008 great detail in there - what large format camera are you using (digital/analog?) plz more infos :megamon: I was using a Sinar studio 4x5 on kodak e100 film with a 240mm lens Quote
e-freak Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 woot - that cam is absolutely awesome.... I've been thinking about getting a digital one of those (but the money is the problem :S ) - where do you got yours? Quote
Blunkka Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 Neat stuff here. The studio work is cool although I think the light should be softer. Right now it's pretty harsh and there is a line of shadow running through her face which I find a bit distracting. Quote

Yeah I definitely agree, I was just messing around woot - that cam is absolutely awesome.... I've been thinking about getting a digital one of those (but the money is the problem :S ) - where do you got yours? Well money is a big problem if thats the case. I go to school for photo currently and get to use this stuff free, 4x5 stuff is pretty damn expensive. ESPECIALLY if you want it digital. A medium format digital back is $33,000 and thats not a joke or exaggeration. Quote
Bic-B@ll Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 i really love the fireworks photo its so perfect, the color and sharpness and everything. Quote

Oh and Blunka on the shadow line: I think it gives portraits a lot of depth if they are not symetrical lit or too soft, Although if fotographing in color it might be a good trick to use different color temperatures (e.g. I had a set up once with one lamp at 6500° and one at 3200° color temperature, giving me some harsh red/blue contrast I could later on alter to really good lighting contrasts in the resulting bw images) Quote
Ginger Lord Posted September 27, 2008 Report Posted September 27, 2008 Nice portraits. I wish people would use more than white or black backgrounds on portraits. Some of the best portrait shots I've seen come off the Photography degree course at my Uni were done on brown, red and yellow backgrounds. Gives a neat effect that instantly sets your photos apart.
