Minos Posted February 19, 2009 Author Report Posted February 19, 2009 Here's an study of something I want to work on more. The building shape and the dude are boring and uninspired but I finally got myself an efficient workflow to paint this kind of stuff. Perhaps it will become my first full digital painting ever?? Crits are welcome  Quote

Minos Posted June 9, 2009 Author Report Posted June 9, 2009 New one. Now I need to figure out a way to color this naturally. I want to keep it quite desaturated but I still wanna have some color variation. Any suggestions?? Quote
Corwin Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 New one. Now I need to figure out a way to color this naturally. I want to keep it quite desaturated but I still wanna have some color variation. Any suggestions?? That scene reminds me of Tekkon Kinkreet, the anime, when The Rat gets shot. It has a orange/brownish tint to the lights that I think would suit your illustration well. I'll try to find a picture to show you. EDIT: Quote
Minos Posted June 9, 2009 Author Report Posted June 9, 2009 Wow thanks a lot Corwin, that's exactly what I had in mind color wise! I'll detail it more tonight and then color it. I actually found it a lot easier to build/details shapes painting in black & white only, since you can focus on the composition/details etc... but it gets a lot harder to get the right colors in the end. Pericolos0 Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 you can try a gradient map, quick and easy way to get some color in. Use several gradient maps with mask for more variation! It's a cheap trick but works well enough =) Quote
