also, the environmental light doesn't really fit the sky. i just noticed now that it seems like one of those 'fake light days' in real life (you've probably had them too, where the cast lighting does not fit the cloudy sky).

You need some decals for the road markings, some stop signs and traffic lights. (No idea why am on a highway tip...)

Other than that it's just detail you need adding to the scene. Dirt, light & shadow, the inevitable graffiti here and there. sIgns, sign posts, trash cans, railings, porch lights, house nameplates, all that kinda junk.

Looking promising mate keep up the work :-D

I added more recent shots of the map to the first post to prevent flooding the post with older pics. I added alot more detail and adjusted the lighting alot. Any crits will be welcome.

Nice new pics, but i dont like the lightning. Its bland, bright, standard imo.

If u make it dawn or sunrise like u can work with a nice variance of shadows.

Also the map looks a bit empty, maybe u can add a torn down house sumwhere in the street, or a house being build.

And u also could add sum skyscrapers or other tall buildings in the distance (or in the skybox), to give the map a "bigger" city like look, now it looks like a square full of houses.

Why are all these windows so dark?

Keep up the good work.

RA7,

I took into consideration what you said about the lighting....fooled around alot today with it and I feel morning / dusk just doesn't set right with me on this particular map. I did darken up the shadow areas. I think it makes it look a bit better. I will add skyscrapers in the skybox for sure...The buiding being built is a great idea.

Those windows are dark because I had specular off for some reason. Updated ones WITH specular on:

while you've done a good job at revamping the buildings, the emptiness is still extreme. why not make that square opening an arched opening? why not add some bins or trash or something that makes it look less artificial and more out of the real world? the last shot especially

...What screenshot are you talking about here? If you mean #5 (in the most recent screenshots)...I'm gonna use it. :D

If not...I'm curious. Where did you mean?

I will get to curving the road and adding more props. Thanks for the info.

The corners are still square.

...There ya go! :D

...and looking at the windows in the "main" alley...I need to use grayish window textures instead of blackish (They reflect nicely in game with specular on as black). It would be consistant with the second shot scene. That would make sense I guess.

in screen 1, 3, 5 you have a square entrance to something, you could make that one an arch.
