PogoP Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 Yeah I read that yesterday, got me really excited for this game again! Quote
e-freak Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 sounds like "we took Oblivion and made a new setting around the same gameplay" Quote
-HP- Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 sounds like "we took Oblivion and made a new setting around the same gameplay" For me, that is exactly what I want to see! Oblivion is the best RPG I've played! And the thought of bringing the same gameplay to a pos-apocalyptic settings, leaves me wet underneath. Quote

And the dialogue, I doubt that they'll have better dialogs, they might have more. More isn't always good. No travelmap? No random encounters while fast traveling? Quote

You can kill non-children non-essential NPCs. They said they worked to keep the essential list as small as possible. The overhead map will work the same way as Oblivion's, you can choose to walk/possibly ride everywhere instead of fast traveling so you will run into random encounters in real time. Quote
Chunks Posted July 8, 2008 Author Report Posted July 8, 2008 I would like to see random encounters for fast travel and hear a reason as to why they wouldn't include it. Quote
st0lve Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 So you cannot ruin your own storyline. You are telling me that if I got into Vault City in F3, I wouldn't be able to kill all of them since many of the NPCs in that city are talking heads and\or important NPCs? HA! When I say NPC I don't mean the normal bad guys you encounter, I'm talking about cities full of people. There is no such thing as random encounters in real time, that would un-random them since you can choose to run around them. Never met that jinxed dog? That Jinxes you, and you do not notice until a few days and a couple of oversaves later? Chunks, they aren't a part of Bethesdas history, they want to make their own game and therefor remove a lot of the features that make Fallout into Fallout Quote
Minos Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 It's their own fucking game now, they do whatever they want with it. Get over it bro Quote
PogoP Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 I found it really annoying in Fallout 2 when I accidentally killed or spoke to a crucial NPC incorrectly and could no longer complete the game ._. So I'm glad they're having this feature, in a way. Quote

-HP- Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 Yes, Taylor, partially, I agree... It's like, for instance, someone decided to make Max Payne 3 an FPS, it wouldn't be the same, and the fans would get really mad. But well, Bethesda owns the IP, and they can do whatever they want to do with it, but given the very good reputation this company has, I think the fallout franchise is in good hands. Quote

Max Payne 2 was amazing with a mod I found that made it first person. It made a number of scenes feel and play totally different, like when you have to hide in the cubicles from the mobsters when you're in the hospital without a gun. Being afraid of or getting pissy over change is a loser's game. They could release the next Deus Ex game as a real time strategy, and if it was good I'd still play it. Quote
Minos Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 Fallout 3 is a totally different game and that's why it's gonna rock! Quote
twiz Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 How can you be angry because you can't kill children? Is that a key part to fallout 1/2? Did your average player of FO1/2 even try to kill a child? You're just digging for something to be mad about. Just listen to yourself. I want to kill children. What the fuck? Quote
