Isn't that clock replica an Amazon exclusive? I think the "regular" CE only comes with the figurine, while those that pre order on Amazon get the clock on top. Difference being that the clock costs another 50 bucks and makes the total reach 130 dollars....

Lol, this guy makes me smile. Only a hardcore fanboy could dismiss any rational business decision with such definitive opinions before actually seeing the final product. If you're Bethesda and you just bought a franchise for some large amount of money, of course you're going to plaster it on your next game regardless of whether or not your game fits the original series perfectly. It's called return on investment.

Gamers blame companies that churn out sequels after sequels of the same original gameplay without changing it much if at all, and they continue to blame the other companies for making the gameplay evolve.

Fans are definitely shooting themselves in the foot with that. No wonder less and less business execs are listening to the hardcore crowd, these guys are never pleased anyway.

Yeah, I have to agree that the hypocrisy a lot of gamers exhibit in that respect has always amused me. I guess the only solution is to just never do sequels and focus on original IP. :-D

ahahaha. damn, i was reading through the comments on the article for laughs; and jesus, did i find them:

Jesus Christ what a sickening amount of paid-off Bethsoft fanboys! What, you all have Peter Hine's limp dick in your mouth while commenting here?

Puff made just one mistake in his text and that was about Black Isle bankcruptcy.

All the other points are valid and truthful. Reading most of the comments made me sick.

We have a big gaming company here, willing to make a proper RPG-sequel to a decade-old franchise which has a legendary status and fanatical following.

Did they hear out old Black Isle guys? -No.

Did they hear out NMA's F3 wishlist? -No.

Did they just copy and "improve" their old engine? -Yes.

Did they just pull a bunch of excuses from their ass for justifying their using Oblivion engine in a totally different game? -YES BABY YES!

It's gonna be a crappy Bioshock-ripoff with shiny gfx. And metacritic will give it 99% or so. And two years from release, fans have released gazillion mods "fixing" the game since Bethsoft is incapable of doing that. Happened with Oblivion and F3 should really have been named Oblivion with Guns, as that's what it is.

man i'd love to smack these fanboys around a bit verbally. they're so upset about the game because bethesda didnt listen to their wish list. how can you not understand that bethesda will make the game how they see fit, and not take pointers from amateur writers or other fanatical suggestions about isometric gameplay for a rpg in our day and age?

I'm talking about the authors article and not the comments really.

Blizzard made 3 WCs, and WoW, why didn't they name WoW WC4? Cause it's a different game, set in the same world.

Same with SC and SC Ghost (does that even still exsist?)

If Beth made an RTS of Oblivion, would it then be called Oblivion 2? That would feel very strange since they only kept the main theme, but changed all the gameplay mechanics.

If they play like that, then they atleast got the title wrong, it should be Fallout 5 and not 3, since you'd have to count Tactics and BoS..

As for being isometric or not, that's not my main problem, it's the fact that it sounds like a horrible game, it's not an FPS, it's not much of an RPG and it sounds like their TB system (VATS which in FO terms is where crap comes from), well is straight from the vats. I probably will enjoy the game if I try not to focus on the fact that it's the sequel to FO2, and that it's just a generic FPS.

you're jumping the gun here, nobody outside bethesda has played the game so far. you could at least stop crying until you know what you're crying about. and again, no matter what you say, bethesda won't change the game to fit your taste.

I've never really seen such rampant fanboyism before Fallout 3 was announced. Reading the nma-fallout forums is hilarious yet sickening at the same time. Those guys need a new hobby.

I'm just as big a fallout fan as anybody but geez, get over it.

For the record I've never played a single Fallout game therefore I don't know what to expect
