Fallout 3

Again, if you had played the first two you wouldn't be wetting yourself so much.

I've played the first two, thought they were OK; but they're very dated now.

However, Fallout 3 rocks. There' s just something about it that really draws me in.

I think because you set yourself up to just flat-out hate the game before release, you aren't even giving it a chance now. Cynicism is such a bad thing!

b) omg it has much more purty graphics than the first 2! The first 2 sux cuz dey have crappe graphix!11

c) It was demonstrated as a console shooting game first, and RPG second.

And that link stolve posted a while ago about the teacher making his students who were all OMGZ1!! for fallout 3, made them play fallout and it drastically changed their view on it. I wonder why?

Fallout 1/2 don't have crappy graphics. They have EYE STRAINING graphics. They're simply painful to look at, especially on a modern monitor.

Also Fallout 2 is just as shitty now as it was when it came out. It's a shitty game. Pimp ur wife omg! Be a porn star! Explore horribly designed environments! :roll:

Quake 1 hasn't aged well either (I went back and tried it recently), though Doom and HL1 have.

I've got a friend who was a big fan of Fallout 1/2 and is wetting himself over Fallout 3 because

a) It's a modern 3d Fallout

b) It has the Fallout feel and humor

c) It has that wonderful Fallout/ES exploration focus

d) Realistically expected options (His example: "Fuck you, I ain't sacrificing myself. You do it.")

It's not as dated as Fallout. To me, Fallout seems archaic, both in terms of graphics (not fussed about) and gameplay. I just don't like it that much, but maybe I'm just a little too impatient to get into it... Spent a week trying to like it, but couldn't.

Fallout 3 is a lot easier to get into for sure. Though fallout 1 being a lot harder to get into, is a lot more rewarding I find. I'm already level 20 in Fallout 3 with enough bullets to kill everyone in the wasteland 5 times over.

I thought I was that badass in the game as well, and then I got to exploring some areas I had unexplored, especially the NW part of the map, hell, was I in for a hard fight. Had to use my stored drugs to survive, and then I got addicted to them while underground (no fast travel back home to desintoxicate) and had to strive to survive.

And I played F1 at least 3 times full-run a and a couple failed attempts. And I'm all over F3

Been playing some more. What sucks is that everyone is hostile. There is no way to talk to people unless you are suppose to speak to them..

This game is so child friendly with their ultra obvious picks when it comes to dialogue, it's like you know the outcome before you say it.

Also, it doesn't really feel like an RPG, all I look for is money and ammo, and all I do is shoot. Feels like an ok FPS so far.

Btw., give me a spoiler on how to get to the radio tower, been in every direction, and all it does is to lead me to another metro enterance\exit.

i'm constantly running out of ammo and have to stop quests halfway through to go complete other quests just so i can get ammo. fuck fire breathing ants.
