Low Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 Just bought the game last night, played it for only about 2 hours though. So far, very well done, a lot of fun. I will agree, the lighting in this game is something to be desired, it's fairly lack luster. But overall... I'm excited to play again tonight. I just got a sawed off shotgun, which means I'll be planning on having a lot of fun tonight with the game. Quote
sarge mat Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 That’s a nice looking cake My copy got shipped out today so it should be with me tomorrow. I ordered the collectors edition so it comes in the big metal lunch box. I mostly want it for the making of and art book..... and the game I suppose. Quote
FrieChamp Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 We sent them a cake http://bethblog.com/ Looks like a thing nma-fallout would do... only they would poison the cake before. lol so true Quote
st0lve Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 the text would be "I hope you all get critical hit to the GROIN for 1032 pts of damage" Quote
Sentura Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 fucking brilliant thing with the cake, klein. i applaud you! also, twiz: remember the kane&lynch scandal last year? i'd say there's a chance that the review world is corrupt. Quote
ReNo Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 Who really thinks that? I mean, come on, look at all these reviews. Anybody who seriously suggests all these are due to corrupt journalism needs their head screwed on. Ockham's Razor, people; maybe the simple explanation is that, I dunno, the game is actually really fuckin' good? Also, 10/10 does not mean a game is perfect. Nobody rates things like that, else nothing would ever get that rating. People giving something 10/10, or 5/5, do so to say "right now this is the mutt's nuts, go buy it". Something can be flawed but still so awesome that it's a (or THE) standout example of a given genre. Quote
Minos Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 That said, "Fallout 3" is much too grim and violent for the kids. Bethesda has created a vivid depiction of what America might look like two centuries after the end of civilization, and even hardened gamers are likely to find it quite disturbing. If you have the stomach for it, though, "Fallout 3" is one of the most absorbing and addictive video games in years. Stupid Micrsofot. Perhaps that's why it got a mature rating? Sentura Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 i took a glimpse at what's happening over at NMA... and damn. i view those people the same way i view racists: too stuck inside their little frame to see that the outside could in fact be better. in a related analogy, if these people were inside a vault, they'd never exit it in fear of trying something new and losing their traditional ways. Quakis Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 I've decided to just purchase the game, despite what I might have said about it due to the previews. I'd rather form my own opinion after experiencing it myself. Quote
Chunks Posted October 30, 2008 Author Report Posted October 30, 2008 I'm about 8 hours in now... it's freaking awesome. Big gripes: My game is crashing all the time, I did some cfg changes and it helped a little bit. Also my radio music is skipping along with the music in the main menu. Everyone on the beth forums seems to be having the same problems and bethsoft hasn't even responded to anyone's issues at all... I can't remember the last game I played that was this bad with CTD's. -HP- Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 mm, really? i guess their busy working on a patch? lol Quote
Minos Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 Perhaps they still have a huge hangover from the release party? Quote
Rick_D Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 It's amazing. It is essentially Oblivion in a post apocolytic wasteland, it keeps a lot of Fallout content and introduces plenty of new things. If anyone is considering whether or not to buy this game, I would reccomend it over ay of the other top releases this month. Although Saints Row 2 has co-op story mode. lol. Quote
-HP- Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 My post apocaliptic lunch box will arrive by mail next thursday. I can't fucking wait!! Quote
