Skjalg Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 retri paladins that are doing dps pisses me off. They are shit Quote
Zyn Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 That's cause most of them are BAD at playing with Retribution! Those people makes the rest of us look bad, since they don't value the very important stat called hitrating. If you come to a raid without having your +hit capped (9% for twohanders): gtfo, you're a waste of space. Since I capped mine, I've never seen a single missed swing (unless under the effect of a -hit debuff, such as the aura from Attumen). However you still get dodges and parries but that's pretty much inevitable until you start stacking expertise-rating. So yes, there is Paladins out there that are good at Retribution, but they usually get left in the dark thanks to those that plain out suck ass. And those are plenty... Quote
wacko Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 well I guess I can respond to this thread.... assuming I will have to deal with the hate later. My Old Main (Undead PvE Mage) http://www.wowarmory.com/character-shee ... &n=Tazeran my gear is a mess as the guild i was in stopped raiding so it was like a mixture of raiding gear and pvp gear and I am slowly working on saving arena points. I currently am lvling the following: Blood Elf Warlock PvP http://www.wowarmory.com/character-shee ... s&n=Razoth Quote

All good points, but I'd rather see a rogue with capped hit rating and expertise, than a pally with it, since the rogue does almost 30% more damage. You are right that most paladins are bad at playing with retribution, but even good ones are bad compared to other dps classes. I don't get it tho, its like being really good at tanking and healing isn't enough, you paladins just gotta try being dps'rs as well, the one thing you really do suck at. (Theres actually a retribution paladin in my guild with some of the best gear in game for retri paladins, I haven't really checked if he is hit capped and expertise capped, but im pretty sure he is hit capped. He is topping at 1k dps with raid buffs while the rogues are at 1,2k. And they only got ssc gear. A rogue with the best gear in game is close to 2,4k dps. Retri paladins wont get close to that at level 80 even.) go tank/heal, and start being useful (or reroll another melee dps class like rogue, if you really prefer doing that). Quote
Izuno Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 here's my 70 Feral NE Druid. Got some ok PVP gear but I have ways to go. I end up being my guild's go-to off/tank in heroics or Kara simply because I can shift to Cat/DPS form on the fly which is highly useful at times. Druid is weird class to play but highly versatile so always handy in a team fight. In PVP I pretty much am a team player...tanking the bosses in Alterac Valley, flag running in WSG or EoS and stealth offense/defense in AB. Problem is on my battlegroup (Emberstorm) horde owns most PVP. Anyway, i only got into this god damned time suck cause last year I had 6 months worth of client projects all on MMOs and I didn't know shit about them so I figured I should play the market leader. Some how I ended up at lvl 70 in a pretty fun guild and got hooked on PVP for a while. There is no "grind" emoticon to express what I'm feeling! http://www.wowarmory.com/character-shee ... Kregaathis Anyway, my gear loadout changes whether I'm tanking, DPS, BG or god forbid off/spec healing. I have two full bags of gear on me at all times plus the junk on my toon. Quote
Zyn Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 go tank/heal, and start being useful (or reroll another melee dps class like rogue, if you really prefer doing that). This is exactly why I'll stay Retribution. Quote

Spellbinder Posted April 12, 2008 Author Report Posted April 12, 2008 Aha. This is why you've been gone for so long No. Its because 54% of the population are @ssholes and i really cant deal with it at the moment. I tried, god knows i did on mIRC etc but with no sucess. When ppl think its more importent to "look" cool then actually being in a community and help each other out im out. Anyway i just popped by to see whats happening in WoW since this is a game community!? Quote
m8nkey Posted April 13, 2008 Report Posted April 13, 2008 I played for around 12 months but gave up around 8 months ago (co-incidently started mapping again around then too). I had a lvl 70 warlock and a 60 warrior, both Horde. I definately don't miss it. + massive, persistant world with varied and interesting environments + co-ordinated, class based tactics within instances + No loading sequences (except instances/airtravel which is unavoidable/acceptable) + Rich mythology - Completely unreasonable timesink. This game was designed soley to rob you of money and years. Every aspect of the game is bogged down with mindless grinding and farming. The amount of time you are required to play gradually increases with every level. If you want to experience end game say goodbye to any other hobbies you have and a large chunk of your social life. - Generally Gear>Skill, typical to the RPG genre but a shame. Overall I had a lot of fun exploring the world and doing instance runs but that was outweighed by the time spent farming and grinding. Quote
Taylor Posted April 13, 2008 Report Posted April 13, 2008 I was playing WoW at work and a MMO enthusiast sidled over. At some point I mentioned I’d levelled my rogue in 8 days and he shook his head in disapproval and said Everquest took 24. Disapproval! 576 hours before you even start playing the game properly? But I can kind of stomach the leveling process, it's the reputation grinds and honour grinds that are obscene, and the bulk of 'new content' for non-raiders seems to be more reputations.
