Thrik Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 As described here, the MapCore attachment settings were modified in March 2008. You can now post 500kb images, you get 15 of them per post, and the thumbnails are optimally sized rather than being tiny. Below is an example of an inline attachment. It's automatically framed, it's linked to a full-size version, and it includes a caption if you define one. [attachment=2]hl2_episode_two.jpg[/attachment] If you attach some images but don't put them in a particular part of your post, they'll be put at the bottom as seen below. You'll probably prefer to use the inline versions so you can choose where they're displayed and in what order.
-HP- Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 finally, I've been asking for an automatic image resizer for ages now! Congrats guys, nice work! <3 Map core!
⌐■_■ Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 heh.. this is cool. we're getting somewhere..
e-freak Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 Does the same work for out-sourced images?
Thrik Posted March 17, 2008 Author Report Posted March 17, 2008 I'm not quite understanding what you mean e-freak.
e-freak Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 let's say I want to put my picture on my own FTP because I post it in like 5 boards and it has a resolution of 293532*24922 because someone wanted cake and now I implent the picture with good ol' img-tag. is this picture resized to 800*600 (or whatever) or will it just demolish the board style again (because we had these high res crysis pictures for example and i had to open every single picture in an extra tab because the board cutted off the edge)
Thrik Posted March 17, 2008 Author Report Posted March 17, 2008 At the moment it only parses files uploaded through the forums, but the image clipping thing does annoy me too and I'm going to look into implementing something that'll produce thumbnails for external images tonight. The thumbnail almost certainly won't be as high-quality as it'll just resize the original live image rather than produce a second thumbnail version, but it'll make sure it gets seen properly.
-HP- Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 Good question, let's test it: Edit :: meh, does'nt work anymore?! And where the hell are the smileys? And the BBcode buttons? Õ_õ
Thrik Posted March 17, 2008 Author Report Posted March 17, 2008 Sorry, I'm working on the image resizer now. I had to fiddle with some settings temporarily, and probably will again. Bear with me.
D3ads Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 Yeah nice choice of images there you complete cunt! I'm kidding, love ya really
