Plat reacted to Practical Problems in Avalanche
It's my regret to inform you all that Avalanche will not be making the submission deadline. The map is in a nasty, unoptimized, buggy state, as artpass has been crammed in. There is simply not enough new content or art to submit for this contest, and no time to even make submitting a workshop version plausible. I blame this mostly on myself; up until these last two months I worked very slowly and with a lack of real dedication. We will continue to work on this map, but it's not going to be a part of this mapping competition in its current state. I hope someday we finish this map - properly.

With plenty of time left in the contest (2 hours) i am also finally publishing Sirius. I hope the map is somewhat enjoyable to look at and - more importantly - fun to play!
I am really proud of the layout and hope people will enjoy playing on it.
The map is by far not in its final state yet. I plan to further iterate the visuals and also the layout, if there is need for it.
Thanks for hosting this Contest! Without it, my motivation to push through this map would have been much lower.

Release time everbody!
What a ride it has been! I will write a small follow-up text in the coming days, but now it's time to rest a little.
I created a new workshop file and removed the old one. Feel free to check it out and leave some feedback! http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1217276839
I'd like to thank MapCore and FACEIT for hosting this contest, and wish all contestants good luck! I hope as many people as possible are able to satisfy their own expectations! Lastly, I will leave you with a few screenshots:
Plat reacted to Oliver in Brewery
So the deadline finally caught up to us, and to be honest it feels like being caught with my pants down having to release Brewery as it is right now. What you see here is a "pencils down" version of the map -- or rather what we have so far!
Here is a link to the workshop entry.
I joined Brewery pretty late in its development. I am responsible for the environment art on Brewery, and I wanted to do something interesting with the theme. What we are going for is a historic brewery, built and used around 1920s. So you will see furniture and architecture from between the 20s and around the 50s. Breweries has been around for ages, and I wanted to capture the era from when a lot of craftmanship and love was put into the art of brewing, as opposed to the very industrialized look of a modern Brewery.
I was also inspired by mechanical design from the same era. This mechanical design can be seen all around Bombsite A.
There is a long list of custom models being made for this map. Furniture, woodpaneling walls, columns, arches, beams, kitchen and brewery equipment... The list goes on.
Here's a few screenshots of whats presentable of the map.
And here is some pictures of the models made for the map so far:
Anyway, we hope you like what you see. We still have a lot of work left ahead of us. The first art pass for the map is around half-way finished. So our plan going forward is to finish the first art pass before thinking about polish and further iteration.
We will run playtests as soon as we are ready for it. But at the moment we still
have some work to do art-wise on B before we are ready for feedback (art-wise).
See you on the next update!

Sorry to let you know, but you didn't manage to upload the map to the workshop in time for the deadline (you went over it by around 12 hours). It's really unfortunate but it would be unfair to the other participants to let this pass with that many hours behind the deadline.
You got something great going on there and I hope you'll keep working on it to turn it into something really outstanding.

Hello everyone again!
Finally, I compiled my map. And I represent it here!
I hope my little delay will not serve as a reason for me to exclude from the competition.
There is still much to do, but this version of the map is already playable and in general corresponds to the vision that I had originally.
I present you with some screenshots of my work and a link to download!
Once again, I remind you, the map will be updated. I hope for your help and for your feedback!

Hello everyone, I thought I'd have time to make a work map on time. But apparently, not this time: ( (first pic)
I will continue to work on the map. There is something to improve, most likely until the first of December.
Some working pictures that I didn't show before.

Plat reacted to Andre Valera in Kaizen
Thanks for checking out the progress so far
Excited to announce that Kaizen is being developed by Jakuza and myself
Besides a couple tile textures and some early proxies (brushes [no pun intended] off shoulders) Jakuza made most of the content so if you think it's terrible please msg him directly (thank you)
Level Design / Environment Art Lead / Content Art Lead - Jakuza
Level Design Lead / Environment Art - Andre
^officially generated information
All jokes aside Kaizen is currently in development and we would love to share some of progress so far. We're diving knees first into the deadline
Workshop link coming soon!
