  2. I'd plan on developing something for the Oculus Go, a few questions with this: Would I have to create a PC version and VR version? There are no .exe because the Go runs android, so the executable will be an APK. If I'd use the motion controller to open the door, a PC version wouldn't be possible. Is then a VR only application enough? Is a video about the door good enough to be judged? I doubt many judges have a Go lying around. Does "The Door" have to be a physical door? Is an "entrance" to a particular space also valid? Of course when the player is made aware of the "entrance".

    Some screenshots to go with our latest release. We're not quite finished and will continue to work things out. We'll take special attention to optimization, rework some models/detail and continue to add cool information from outer space.
  4. Looks very atmospheric, which is great for VR. Adds to the immersion! Is there any plans for HTC Vive ? I'd love to play this but Revive currently doesn't mention any compatibility with FOS.

  7. Initially I stopped working on it because I really wanted to have a 3D preview of the models, however legally this would be an issue. However recently I also received a PM on Reddit asking if this was still a thing. I know people would appreciate it and probably even could work with people just uploading screenshots and maintaining it. I'll maybe have another look at it for a sideproject

  9. Looks great, but TopHattWaffle has the exact same name and theme.. They are quite far in the detailing stage from what I've seen. Example of the map (is from a while back however, they have progressed immensely)
  10. They don't show in the texture browser since they don't have a .VMT. Download GCFScape and open pak01_dir.vpk You can find them under Materials/Effects/

  13. No, I recently switched from Blender to 3dsmax (because of Wall Worm). I quickly checked out Maya on some Youtube tutorials, but what you exactly find closer to Hammer to it? I've read somewhere that 3dsmax is good for easy stuff, but hard for doing advanced stuff. And Maya is easy for advanced stuff, but hard for easy stuff (if that makes sense).

In all seriousness, finally pushed past my unmotivational phase and starting doing some work. However custom assets are still a struggle for me, I need to spend way more time in 3dsmax. But those are the drawbacks of making my first map full with custom assets .
  15. Was just browsing /r/GlobalOffensive and stumbled on It's official. 2016 was the year of only one operation. I don't really mind about CS:GO much anymore (besides finishing my map for it), but why would they only do 1 operation? There are plenty of quality maps being made, yet they only prefer to do 1 operation. In 2014 they released 3 operations (4 if you include Vanguard which is 2014-2015). So 2016 had 1 operation, new nuke, new inferno which is all great as of new content, but meanwhile they neglect all the great maps the community is coming up with. They seem not to have any problems with releasing new weapon crates, limited use graffiti and the new glove skins, I'm wondering what their next step is towards new loot in a case. But from my standpoint, they are getting close matching this 8 year old video.

    I think maxgiddens is just letting NiHil know that their map is already detailed and is using the same theme. If NiHil wants to make a unique map he could still give a new swirl to his theme and make his own unique one. But that's ofcourse up to NiHil.
  17. The student licenses are always for non-commercial work. If you want to be able to commercialize (aka Valve use your map), then I think Blender will be better for it. However I'm not sure if they can tell if your models are made with a student license (I thought the actual model files have a student signature added to it, but when exporting to SMD & MDL I'm not sure it's visible).

  21. Yesterday after countless hours of looking for reference images for a satellite center, I finally found some 3D image views of an existing satellite center. My motivation went from sad-no-inspiration to can't wait to work on my map every day. Old T spawn New T spawn (ignore pixelated text ) Creating easy models in Blender also is going a lot better. And exporting them to Source is getting easier every day. Even bought a DSLR to take my own textures, so I'm really committed to get this map done. Now off to vacation and can't wait to get back to continue working on it for the next playtest!
  22. Please add a mini-map. Overview seems way too complex, too many angles/corners that people need to check while traversing the map. (1) The CT's seem to arrive way sooner than the T's, make that it's almost the same or 1-2 seconds. There are also some really far sight-lines which makes an AWP'er have a field day. GL Picture

  24. Are you sure you haven't changed any HDR value of any lighting ? Because usually that gives those funky blue shadows.
