  1. I'd love to see what the community does in the Unreal Engine.

    Heck yes! Amazing work!
  3. Wow.. I really hope people jump on board with this! If I wasn't super swamped I would provide some models and textures.. Heck down the line I might be able to help out. Keeping an eye on this!
  4. Hey all, So it's been forever since I've posted here but I could use some feedback and suggestions on how to ensure fair gameplay on dark / dimly lit night maps. How do you achieve a darker evening map but also help keep things fair. One of the main issues with night maps is that players can easily pull up the graphic settings and crank their gamma or raise the brightness on their monitor to achieve an unfair advantage over those that keep their gamma settings consistent across all maps. Are there any tips or suggestions on how to solve this issue? Thanks! ..oxy..
  5. Trying to step up my Zbrush game.

  6. I was a guest on Insurgency's stream with Mikee, the community manager, this past weekend. We talked level design, environment art, and game dev for two hours while we played my map, Gizab. Figured you guys might be interested and hopefully inspired somehow.

  9. Thanks all. Minos you made some props for the original mod? Nice! I added a few custom props for the mosque. Map is released. Release thread can be found here: http://www.mapcore.org/topic/18792-insurgency-gizab-b1/
  10. Backstory The security forces have learned that insurgents have dug into the outskirts of a small city in Afghanistan called Gizab. Just as an evening storm is rolling in during sunset, the security forces arrived at the edge of Gizab to be met by a car bomb, they must rid the town of the insurgents and secure the center of town, the mosque. 11. Look me up as 'oxygencube' and add me. I'm doing final coop tests this weekend and if all goes well will be releasing it.
  12. Are there any tutorials for the Maya->Source workflow out there? I was searching a while ago, but i didn't find anything helpful. I'd like to continue mapping and i should start to create my own models. I had to use Maya 32bit and followed these instructions to get it working: http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1197170 Then this video should help you with the exporting / compiling: http://www.moddb.com/engines/source/tutorials/introduction-to-custom-props-for-source-powered-games-with-maya
  13. I'm getting close to the first beta release but I need help with soundscapes. Ideally, I would be able to create my own but I'm having some trouble. I have copied 'soundscapes_district' and renamed it to 'soundscapes_gizab'. I then went through and replaced 'district' with 'gizab' and saved the file. I added 'soundscape_gizab' to the soundscape_manifest.txt file and tried placing them in the /scripts folder but can't play them ingame using the playsoundscapes command. I also tried placing them in /misc/scripts folder as that is where I found them using CFGScrape. Anybody help me out?
