This is mainly just a side project for fun, but I'm reworking dod_donner for the Insurgency mod "Day of Infamy". I'm trying to replace as many DoD assets with newer/fitting DoI/Insurgency assets to help the map feel fresh. Just finished retexturing the majority of the exterior buildings last night along with some new lighting/foliage and particle fx.

I'm feeling completely aimless lately, so maybe throwing some stuff up here will give me a tiny bit of direction. I was feeling like I wanted to do something organic and green at the beginning of the month, especially since I'm dirt at modelling trees and Nuke gave me some decent ones. Pumped out this.
It was actually way more difficult than I anticipated, so while it ended up looking really nice, I decided against a full map since I hadn't really blocked it out properly to begin with and wanted something screenshotable right away. I started playing Dark Souls 3 and really got pulled into a gothic architecture kick.
It was when the cathedral was ready for an initial art pass that I realized that an average PC was going to choke on all the stonework and filigree I was going to need to make this look authentic. People complain about Cache. There was no way I was going to achieve ANY kind of poly budget on this. So I thought about taking it underground.
I kinda like it, might actually finish this since it's blocked out. I want to grab some reference images and try to go for Catacombs of Paris perhaps.

Sort of new to posting here so tell me if I'm posting too often, but I decided to actually finish this map (I suppose after the graybox is completely done I should make my own thread?). Some new models that I'm mulling over before I UV and texture. Making use of Cobblestone assets where it makes sense to cut down on work and filesize.

Sorry it's a lot, but I just finished a tentative roof pass on my graybox so I was excited. Most of these are going to be models, but I have no props to speak of right now. Hopefully my first map doesn't get away from me before then lol.

@Skybex and I work on a map called cs_concert set in an amphitheater. We've recently added a wall of fame and still need a good amount of pics. If you want a chance to be part of it just PM me some of your pics extravaganza.

That's what I'm currently working on. Probably not the best idea to make an open map with plenty of organic shapes, so this is taking way longer than I wanted. But ~95% done atm...

Here's the overview of Bombsite A, though very WIP of course!
Aaaand Bombsite B, also, fun stuff, that car is actually a func_vehicle from de_jeepathon2k. I usually full compile my map for 6 hours, so when I playtest it to make sure everything is going well I also like to have some fun, such as driving randomly made vehicles around a map. It'd be fun to make a version of Dust2 where you can ride in the streets, which I'll probably do. Don't worry though, the map will not have the car, it's there for me to toy around! I may include it in the playtest if and when I do it, and if people want it to be there.
