    Bunch of new screenshots.
    Quarry and motel. You can clearly see that our motel is similar to cs_motel by Soctom. That is correct. I asked him if we can base ours on his  original visuals so that we can  maybe bring some of the nostalgia for older players. Tried to find the right balance between original and fresh visuals to still bring something new to  the place and also to fit dz map playstyle. Hope you guys like it.

    Giving a feedback is also a skill. As well as having a valuable conversation. When someone does not agree with your opinion you can talk about it and present few arguments. But I see you take everything personal and calling it 'an argue'. Super glad that Administrator on mapcore - a game dev forum can't have valuable conversation and he would rather 'spit and leave' his feedback without backing it up or talk about it. "Reading what the person has said a few times, think about it, and thanking them for their feedback" is not a very skillful way to handle feedback btw

    I don't get this at all. It's just bunch of locations that will be scattered across the map tied with terrain. Of course they are out of context right now but you can clearly see where i'm going with it. I think a small rural city will fit perfectly in danger zone style map without feeling too cramped, artificial or random. I don't see Jungle having quite focused theme at all. Desert island is also a broad theme... And I think thats the characteristic of danger zone map. Map is huge and you can't go with a narrow theme like you would normally do with typical csgo map. You need to have smaller themes all around and tie them up with a story and settings of the map.
    You can't imagine a trailerpark somewhere in a rural city of america? It really doesn't fit in the overall settings of the map?
    Thank You! This is the exact reason I wanted to do a danger zone map. Focus highly on visuals and environment story telling to give each locations a bit of a story. Even tho players probably won't notice it while playing in high risk situations their subconsciousness will pick subtle things up. I finished FC5 to get better feeling of the theme and atmosphere there and also gather references. But to be honest, every church in rural usa looks like this

    We had full prototype of a terrain but I had to scrap it and take different approach. I will work on placement of the locations once all of them are done. So I will get back to you guys, probably in a a month with an overview.

    Awesome start for the project, I can imagine how fun it must be to come up with locations and environmental narration, it's the closest one can get to single-player level design in CSGO.
    Looking forward to see everything come together, the Far Cry 5 vibes are strong right away with the church and sawmill... unlike Shawn I'd rather see this go to the most hillibilly you can push it, although a suburban area would provide more tacticality and overall stronger gameplay -- just because would be more like the everyday CS is.

    Hello everyone !
    I think it is a good time to post some screenshots from my newest csgo project that I'm working on with @jakuza. He already made some models and materials that I used in the listed locations. More to come in next passes,
    County is a map that features everything that comes to mind when typical european thinks about rural part of the USA. It is a danger zone map that features variety of locations you would normally see in rural cities. What I tried to do was to tie these location with some story as well as their placement on the map. I really wanted to avoid 'random structures scattered across the map' feeling some of the community made maps have.
    First art pass is mostly done in most of the locations. In upcoming weeks I will focus on Motel and Quarry locations which are not shown here in this post.

    Same as my other map, I made this a while ago (about a year and a half) and I never really did anything with it. I'm very curious about how people will like it and what not. It's my third csgo map I've ever made and I'm really looking forward to hearing some feedback, positive or negative!
    One thing I am aware of is that there quite a few blank areas and the visleafs are unoptimised, so feel free to skip those ones.

    I ran around a time on this map and I got to say that it´s HUGE! And it's a maze.
    I don't know how it plays in a 5v5, but it feels like AWP would be overpower, and retake is impossible.
    Things that I like: 
    The 2 stairs "connector". Everything here is to big/high, but I like the idea.
    The "slope" to the bombsite. But T need more space to "jump down". Now they jump in with there heads in the ceiling.
    T-Spawn and how you run into the base.
    Things that need to change before a playtest:
    Change to floor to concrete.
    Make the map smaller. 
    Make the bomb-sites much smaller.
    Not a big fan of "2-level bombsites".
    Re-work the left side of the map. To much space here. Things will go crazy here in a match.

    I was shocked to see them not make it but I do see the judges' point, maybe with Mustang's layout not being that great for sure, but the theme was already explored in Monastery.

    This has been over a year long project for me to build this on and off on my free time.
    Welcome to 3-stage map cp_ambush. Each stage has 2 CP's that you need to capture in order to advance. After capturing all 6, you win the game. As RED, naturally you have to stop BLU from capturing!

    This has got to be my favorite submission. Although all the other maps in the competition look great, the visuals typically vary between superb and rushed. Anubis, on the other hand, does not look rushed in a single area. If one were to tell me Valve made this map, I would believe it. The layout is interesting, and the visuals are an easy A+. This map is only rivaled by Valve's own remakes.
    You guys deserve first place!

    Hey guys, I'm going to have to throw in the towel and withdraw from the competition.
    I can't get the map to work ingame properly and it's causing me a lot of grief, I've tried to turn functionally everything into displacements and using wallworm (in a way you'd be using propper) to no avail, it's just too much work. It'll take either 2 months to fix it or 3 months to remodel it all and I've not got enough time to make anything by the deadline.
    Please accept these screenshots in hammer as something that could have been.

    Hey guys, thanks for checking in again. Since the last time I've had major hurdles (not just procrastinating, that's just me by design) with my 17 year old dog passing away, moving to a different place and my car burning to crisp just before Christmas. It's fine though, the map is still coming along and I'll try my best to make it before the deadline.

    I've cordoned off T-Spawn/A Long of the map in hammer to see how it looks in game, ignore weird props or bad lighting, I've done nothing about it before pressing compile.
    I also wanted to share this with you before but never got around to it.

    It's not updated for anyone except us to keep track of things we need to do and/or fix.
