    Since its been a year ago we were working on this project I decided to do a playtest and try out some small ideas.
    Afther the playtest I realised I wasn't really happy with how it played and decided to do some big layout changes.

    Even though I reduced the options for Ts, the map was very much T sided because of their OP position in Apps and the fact CT had a hard time rotating.
    Based on these main points I have strengthen CT positions on the sides and midle and made the B apps hole more open so Ts are more exposed.

    This is a pack I've created to replace ladders causing issues related to bullets getting stopped/reduced damage, but also Grenades and other kinds of physic objects bouncing off them.

     
    Features:
    Model based ladder "bars" which exploit on how climbing works. Comes with easy to use Instances and an example showcasing them. Has 32/64/128 variants. Two solutions: Dynamic: enables collisions while close to the ladder segment Static: always has collisions on. Has two possible modes:  One way: Players can only climb from the facing side of the ladder + its left and right sides. Two way: Players can climb from anywhere. No VScripts, this is purely entity based, prop_dynamic and trigger_multiple. How does it works?
    When climbing (same rules as when being on the ground).. if an object is smaller than a unit, you'll be able to move on it.
    I've made a blank model with the collisionmodel so thin that the game doesn't register for bullet impacts, yet does for collisions.
    It is possible to apply the Ladder surfaceprop to models, therefore make climbable models.
    Models are way easier to handle when it comes to enabling/disabling collisions, making those two weird quirks perfect for this.
    Advantages:
    Dropped Weapons and Grenades will pass through while using the Dynamic solution if no one is standing where you threw. They'll clip on Static but it is less likely than with standard ladders. Bullets WONT GET BLOCKED AT ALL. Disadvantages (kind of):
    Harder to use than just drawing a block with the ladder texture on. 2 entities per instance for the static solution, 3 for the dynamic solution. You'll need to pack the models you've used. Not as reliable if you try to do something weird with them... Just don't go weird and use the instances. Only works with the standard ladder width. Tips:
    Be sure to disable collisions on your ladder models.. else it destroys the purpose of this. Don't use the Dynamic solution if you don't really need to as they are expensive in prop and entity count.. Only use it for problematic ladders!

    Transparency of what? arbitrary scores? if the judges post their score it becomes a mess of 'well how could this map get X points more than this in this category!!'

    the gradings are basically made up of imperfect subjective opinions, nothing is gained from releasing scores. One of the judges released his scores and it led to half day bitchfest about it.

    Congratz to all! I wish there were more maps to be allowed in the top 4, so much good content this year! I think the top 11 can all be proud on what we reached this year. 
    @judges, will we be able to see the rating form and get feedback if you have some? Thanks for giving us your time and effort! Even though us mappers and community doesnt always agree on how this go or what so ever, its still being appriciated what you guys do for us ❤️

    We just released a new update before the deadline is there!  
    I'd like to thank the awesome staff from the FaceIt Mapcore Hub for the organisation and ofcourse the awesome people for playing the maps and giving us feedback and stats to work with.
    For that special thanks to @Thewhaleman & @JimWood for providing the demo parser, its been very useful!
    We have done some small layout changes and heard some birds whispering they want more colors, so there you have it!
    @jd40 & @jakuza have been working their asses off to create new cool assets and doing some more environment work on the map, so a big shout out to those two amazing artists!
    Enough talking, time to check out some screens and perhaps have a look ingame!

    10 days have passed, we had feedback, thank you all. What will be in the next update?
    - Many fixes for overlaps, gapes, and more.
    - Update timing for CT Side, and changes spawn position.
    - Add some new details for navigation voice tag.
    - Replace old displacement waterplant blending to prop overlay
    - New boat for T side and A bombsite (yes, re-model from canals boat)

    The second deadline is drawing near. And it's time to tell you about what we did, and what we failed to do.

    What have we done:
    - A community work was done with the community, a lot of demo records and streams were watched.
    -Improved overall visual quality.
    -Improved performance.
    -Improved balance and perception.

    What we will do:
    - Performance.
    At the time of building the basic geometry, we noticed that open spaces are detrimental to performance. We wanted to preserve the unique layout and unique gameplay tools and do everything to make the map work better. What now does not allow to make optimization better. In fact, the game engine itself. We have a bug in which the Areaportal lowered into the water does not work correctly. Namely, at the moment of passing through it, the sound of immersion in water is made and it seems that the character is floating. Thus, we cannot cut off part of the geometry on the T side from the bombsite A. Because all cutline placed inside the water.

    What tools are now helping the map work.
    We use tradition optimization tools (hint/skip; areaportals; skyboxes) and newer system of auto-combination of static props. This reduced the number of draw calls. We used simple materials and more props used similar material.

    We are still working on productivity and really hope that we will succeed. But now we have quite good results in comparison with the first release.
    At the moment, the performance of the map at a low graphics setting is not much different from other maps, with the exception of special cases described earlier.
    The map performance at high graphics settings gives a good visual elaboration, but also takes a little more system resources than other maps.
