    Hi
    I have been working on this weird ass source mod for over a year now. It's mostly complete (some assets needs to be redone, need voice recordings as well), so I'm releasing it now to get feedback. It's a full singleplayer campaign with 5 maps, fairly long (between 1 to 2 hours), with custom mechanics, weapons and enemies. There's a few cutscenes and some story, some puzzle and parkour, but it's mostly a lot of bunnyhopping around and blowing up carebears. Go play it and (hopefully) post feedback here!

    Doom 2016 the moment there was dialogue/cutscene within the first 2 minutes Doom Guy punched it away. Hell yeah.
    In Doom Eternal, it feels like there's a cutscene every 2 minutes. What really confused me was when Doom guy walked into a room with those 3 priest guys or whatever the fuck they are and just stood there looking at them. Why am I stood there, just fucking kill them? Oh they're gone now, time for more talking. Hell no.
    Ok there's this dude in a cave with big guns. Who the fuck is this guy? What the fuck is going on? Stop talking! I don't care! Why am I not killing?
    How did I get in this giant pussy patrol fortress? No I'm not about to read 10 encyclopedia entries on this badly designed and presented menu system to find out.
    Why is this a hub game now? What was wrong with kicking in a door and screaming RIP AND TEAR TIME TIMMY
    What's that buddy? You were starting to enjoy the combat a bit more? Yeah nah sorry guy. Here, swing off this bright yellow pole instead onto this floating climable concrete coffin that falls out of the sky. Oh also no you can't jump over there even though it totally looks like you can. Lol sorry, try again.
    No you can't fight that way, you have to do it this way and only this way or you will die a lot.
     
    I'm trying so hard to like the game but it just keeps fighting me all the way.

    Hi everyone!

    I'm looking for people interested in finalizing a project named Jurassic Life, on the Source Engine (free HL2 modification). It's loosely based on the Jurassic Park universe where you play as Robert Muldoon. Project was in development for several years on and off. 2013-2014 we came to a complete stop due to personal reasons and some other factors. Now hoping to not get extinct and finish what was started.
    Plan is for a 2020 release.

    Coder position:
    We're looking for someone that can create our remaining NPCs and improve existing ones.  
    Experienced with working with Source Engine. Compiling necessary .dlls e.t.c
    C++
    Entity/NPC creation

    Faceposer:
    Hoping to find someone well traversed in that to help us when our human NPCs need that added. 

    Hammer gameplay scripter:
    Well traversed in Hammer editor and knows how to utilize entities to create interesting dynamic gameplay

    3D Modeler:
    3 weapons 1½  Dinosaur Couple more props needed Familiar with creating models for Source Engine.

    That texture probably isn't alphatested so it's not going to cast shadows. Copy the VMT and change "translucent" to "alphatest".

    In general alphatested materials should have AllowAlphaToCoverage to 1 as well, this might fix your disappearing textures issues. Keep in mind it's either translucent or alphatest, not both. Don't be like valve, keep them separate. Otherwise you'll get the worst of both worlds and your alphatested foliage/chainlinks will show through smokes.
