    Sorry to hear man!
Get well soon. Just wikipedia:d this and it sounds awful. :/

For me personally, I did quite a major change this friday. After finally coming to terms with that I do not have the health nor energy you would expect to have in your mid-20's, I came to an agreement with my employer to work shorter days starting this monday. I feel that I have been stretched thin the last few years and that it made me into an old grumpy man. Starbreeze has been very accommodating and understanding and I salute them.

After a month in which I only had 6 days off, I had a full week off and spent the weekend in beautiful Wales, Pembrokeshire with my babes. We went coasteering as highlight of the trip Saturday afternoon, did some walks, took lots of selfies… making me feel ten years younger ?

This weekend I moved out of a house I was sharing with some friends and some people I didn't really like into a 2 bedroom flat with my girlfriend. It's really nice to have my own place where I can come in and know there's not a huge mess in the kitchen to clean and that there's actually some toilet roll in my grime free bathroom. I can chill out on my sofa with a film on or go play some games without someone else lagging my game out.
I was also commuting around 2 hours 15 minutes to work. After the move that went down to about 1 hour 20 minutes today. Which is a big difference and should mean I can get some more free time back
Sure, the initial cost has been expensive but it'll be much better for me in the long run.

I'd consider removing the clip brushes surrounding the map and making it possible for players to fall to their death (like vertigo and agency). They feel a bit limiting, especially since they're moved a lot "inwards" in places, like here:

Spot the ladder  Without bots using it, I would probably never had noticed the ladder.

Very shiny door, doesn't fit with the rather gritty look of the map.

Weird shadows on this panel. Not sure what's causing it, but maybe "Ignore surface normals" could fix this, since these models are $nocull iirc. Just pointing it out, it's a very minor thing

    Overlapping materials.

    Same.

    Intentional spot?

Last but not least, I think the readability was a bit poor in some areas. It really depends on the location a bit. For example, CTs are harder to spot in the covered (lowest level) parts of the map, while the Pirate models are sometimes hard to read in front of some of the upper deck areas (mainly containers and the like).

Improving readability on the map by changing lighting and textures is a lot of work, but maybe changing the player skins could go a long way. I think Phoenix and ST6 are the best alternatives for what you have now. Anyway, I'm not sure if that is just me, maybe other people have less trouble with it.

Overall, you really nailed the theme, the visuals are stunning and you got a solid map right there  Good job!

Played de_shipped for a while today - I really enjoyed it! Layout is simple but with plenty of options to boost on containers etc. Really nice.
But some polishing still to do. I've put some things I found together http://imgur.com/a/UrMJZ
You are probably already aware of these things, but maybe it helps you.

Ran a few minutes around on the release version. Imo you should allow players to suicide into the ocean. Atm i get a slight restricted feeling.
Also there is a prop not rendering:

I wouldn't worry about votes guys, valve doesn't really use them to filter. If a map is good they'll notice. Besides, they probably skip all the pages with aim maps anyways, so votes def don't matter in that regard.

Onto the map, looks pretty killer dude, I remember seeing a dev version a few months ago, seeing it progress into this final version is pretty rad, tons of work went into it for sure. On the note about the Ocean I partially agree, mostly because I've been there and done that, achieving an ocean in source doesn't come with many options that are performance sensitive. I think applying some specularity to the ocean will help drive it's realism a long way tho, maybe try giving it a normal as well?
As for the rest of the map there's a lot of really nice touches to both the atmosphere and narrative of the environment. I think the only thing I think is a concern in the art department is that you might want to try and push the fidelity a bit more on a lot of your custom assets. Almost everything seems to have a consistent envmap intensity (especially in the dark areas), applying phong to a bunch of stuff will really help give those assets some more life.

I know a few of you are releasing a map this week so I want to give you guys a headsup that i'm pretty sure someone is downvoting maps so he can get his maps on top of the workshop spotlight. I released shipped yesterday and had two downvotes until two hours ago then all of a sudden the map has 40 downvotes and now JeffCSBETS.NET has his 6 maps aim maps full with CSbetting advertisment and all with a 4 star rating and no comments on top of the workshop page. he released the maps today. I know I cant know for sure its his doing but this feels real shady.

Pls don't get me wrong I can handle downvotes Im also pretty sure i can sleep tonite but this is getting out of hand and I just wanted to spread the word.

A bomb-defuse map (obviously) set on a cargo ship.

This time the pirates aren't planning on taking any hostages they just want to sink the damn vessel.

Here's a link to workshop page in case you want to download or support the map:

Made a new thread for this considering all the links/images were broken.
Big shoutout to Wilts and Hordeau for helping out on all of the feedback and new changes.
This is a major update to an old map of ours. We had a bunch of feedback sitting for a while but didn't have a lot of time to get to it till now. Huge layout changes have been made, along with art. You can read the FULL CHANGELOG HERE.

i would write a big long post about why everything is shit and all arguments in favour of it are retarded but it wouldn't change anybody's mind, let's just hope england and wales break off and fall into the sea.
sure some good people will drown but at least those dirty immigrant foreigners will drown as well eh!

I agree, I've seen idiots and very rational, intelligent people alike voting both ways. It's just not as simple as you're an idiot for voting out, even though that wouldn't have been my choice. These are nonetheless some interesting albeit unsurprising observations:

I must say that as someone who comes from a backwater town and who now lives in a multi-cultural city, it's impossible to not draw a link between the casual racism that permeates throughout that town and its huge sway towards voting to leave the EU.
I have no doubt that many of these leave votes were fuelled by xenophobia, racism, and/or frustration at not earning very much, none of which will be helped by leaving the EU. Of course a lot of fine citizens did vote leave for entirely sensible and rational reasons — but those people aren't the ones who tipped the scales.
Essentially, I think that we're leaving for entirely the wrong reasons, but the good news is that voters' motivations and what politicians decide to do with the country upon leaving are two entirely different things. My hope is that we'll be able to arrange a new set-up that retains free movement of workers and access to the common market — which would inevitably involve taking back on various EU laws much as Switzerland does — which even Brexit politicians are now starting to hint may be the case.
The holy grail would be a general election where we can vote in a party with a mandate to scrap Brexit, which I believe would override the referendum in terms of adhering to what the public wants. If Scotland is successful in stalling the referendum as it intends to, this is actually a (remote) possibility.

Obviously it was because politicians told the people that leaving the EU wouldn't change funding but would only change the sovereignty of the country. So they felt economy would remain the same so might as well be racists jerk and go our own way.
Which by the way is bad, because now, France has absolutely noooooooooo fuck to give the UK about keeping immigrants in Calais before they go in the UK... so the UK leaving could mean more Syrian and other immigrants coming there.

I have very few people voting leave in my Facebook echo chamber. The one that did was posting union flags all over his Facebook in celebration, and when it was pointed out this might trigger a Scottish independence vote so good luck with that flag, his reply was that we should let them go independent and then invade them with the British army.
What worries me is the leave campaign was... really bad. Dan Hannan did a pretty good speech at the spectator debate, but outside of that it's headed by Nigel Farage who runs a party with openly racist members, BoJo the Clown in his Big Red Bullshit Bus, and spokespeople who say "what do experts know?" Regardless of the merits of leave and remain these are clearly grade-a morons who should not haven be taken seriously.
