    Not as qualified to make any remarks on the environment art, but from our playtest and my experience going through the map, the only changes I could suggest while respecting the layout is to make the routes into B a bit more conspicious.
    i.e. A vent almost blended in with the wall. Maybe a light source or a border?:
    The actual engagements and chokes that defend B routes are fine IMO, but it was a bit hard to intuitively know B was beneath the hidden stairwell:

    These things are probably forgiveable since it's just a matter of players learning the layout but it'll definitely make it a bit less confusing.

    Played 2 games on the map. I think you should delay ct for a bit in mid somehow. Cause Ct's get the 2 connectors to bombsites for free. Right now it's really hard to go from mid to anywhere because it's so easy for CTs to hold.

    Nice! I got excited for bit when I thought it was going to be an ancient egyptian tomb environment but looks nice nonetheless.
    Wasn't surprised my unpolished build didn't make the contest cut, but damnit I'm still gonna make an Operation-worthy map one day! If anyone has feedback on what I need to fix about my map's aesthetics, I'd appreciate it a lot!

    I like the panels! 
    What about some glass pavement panels (see below) underneath the ivy with light coming through? Would be a good opportunity for some ambient steam or machinery sounds coming from some sort of basement boiler room or something, too.

    The vast majority of Counter-Strike players probably don't know what nodraw is, but that doesn't render their opinion on a map's gameplay and aesthetic quality any less valid than somebody who does.

    It'd be great if the judges could stream part of their process, like Cotton did for the last CEVO mapping contest. Might be a lot of extra work though I guess.

    Now it's official! As the current main teacher for Level Design at The Game Assembly, an advance vocational education, (University level but not academic, focused on pratice) in Malmö, Sweden is stepping down I'm about to step into his shoes and teach in everything from level design to game engines and scripting. First off at 100% and then I will drop down to 75% to continue my journey with my own studio.

    Finally some economic stability in my life, a total relief!

    Updating the map. It's mostly detailed, and the layout changed a little too.
    Todo:
    -soundscapes
    -skybox
    -clipping
    -replacing brush crates
    -more ground detail
    -improve player readability/ change environment and cc settings
    Hoping to finish in time...

    a little update. Im almost done getting some basic details down on the level, I finished all the buildings in the playable area. i still need to probably create models for the skybox and the background. I dont think i will be able to do that by the end of the contest, but the playable area will look good. I also won't be able to finish the car models i wanted to create also.
     
    As you can see in some of the shots i didn't finish everything yet, but everything in the playable area will be finished. Lighting could probably use another pass as well.

    yeah, what you are saying - more or less try to make them fit together a little bit more, for example the stains on some of the textures pops too much etc. also add normals and spec, some models are 512-2048, so they might need to be upped or down rez etc...so trying to make it feel like a real place,

    All reflections except the fountain at mid are cubemaps. Water_invis is there only for the water effects like fall damage and splash decals, the actual water surface is water_fountain, and it uses a cubemap.
    And it's a prop because you can't edit UVs of brushes to make water flow in direction you want.

    Looking to polish this as much as possible before the deadline. Map set on the Italian Riviera - though most references are from San Remo since it has palm trees, and all the other elements (church, castle, lot of foliage etc). Images below are updated from the workshop build.

    Quite a few big changes since last time I posted. Been pulling things a bit closer to the real life boat and removing some of the more "gamey" elements of the map. In the process I also recruited the help of Yanzl to help out with the art.
    Biggest change has been the T spawn area. Visually it looks much more like its real world counterpart with minimal gameplay impact

    I also finally got round to working on some of the interior sections. This bar area has been annoying be for ages so I decided to have a proper crack at it. Spec maps are doing strange things in the image so don't pay attention to them.

    And some updates to other areas

    The arcade area has been totally ripped out and is next on my list to work on. Once that's done, It should be quick progress to getting a closed release build.

    @blackdog I tried to compile on my other machine, but steam doesnt allow you to have the same game open on 2 different computers. And this includes CSGO SDK so I would have to get a new account and csgo to compile on one machine while working on the other. Not something that's hard to do, but I didn't really bother yet as overnight compiles are fine.
