Does anyone else get a green tint on their screen and then a black flash when switching between HDMI inputs? It displays normally after a couple of seconds, not sure if it's an actual issue or not but yeah.

Grats dude!

QA is definitely something I'd consider, it's just this time around the length of contract/salary were absolutely not worth it. I'm still going to be applying for QA jobs without a doubt, I'm just hoping I find one that's either a longer-term or permanent. As far as I see it, it's better to be working in QA within the Industry and learning in your own time than it is to be working in a field that is completely unrelated. It's all exposure to the process which I think will be invaluable when I get around to applying for dev/design roles.

First one was better than I thought so I'll probably check this out. Would be better if James Franco was in it though. /mancrush

Haha, I just signed up for every notification possible. Santa pls...

The Knack bundle just became available on Amazon, added it to my basket and clicked checkout 2 minutes after the notification, already sold out. I have no chance.

I appreciate all the advice guys <3

Nah I requested it, like FrieChamp said it's probably best to be vague incase this is stumbled upon in the future!

That's a good point, thanks! I hope so, thanks

I've passed. I was excited because I didn't think I'd ever get the chance to work in Games after having to leave University, QA or not. You're all right though, it's not a sensible thing to do and it's probably not worth it. Like I said, it's nice to know I can get responses so I'll just keep looking and learning Yeah, pretty sure Santa has already thrown away my present. I mentioned that I'd still be more than happy to attend the interview, even if it's just to meet them and then hopefully be considered for any future roles. I didn't really want to turn up if I didn't have any intention of taking a temp contract, she contacted me directly to ask if that was OK before proceeding. I'm waiting for a response.

Yeah, I know you guys are right. I suppose the fact they would interview me means there might be more opportunities further down the line, possibly even with them if they ever have full time positions going - that's if they don't think I'm going to waste their time. In the meantime I'll just keep on learning. I guess the sensible thing to do is to pass.

I've managed to get through to the third stage interviews at a prestigeous development studio for a Games Tester position and they want me to come in to the studio to meet them. However, they've just told me that it's a 4 month contract with no guarantees of a permanent position afterwards. The salary is much lower than what I'm currently on (in a full-time perm position) and I'd have to relocate. The salary doesn't bother me too much, it's the fact I might end up back at square one... but with that AAA studio's name on my CV. I was just wondering what you guys thought, is this too good of an opportunity to miss if I want to build a career in the industry?
-
How long did this take you to block out? It's looking good. I'm a beginner myself, how long have you been using the SDK?
-
BY THE GODS that's glorious! "in every unintentional way" hahaha! That makes me want to see it for myself! If you make sure you're drinking and playing with friends, it's a masterpiece.

I was late and only got a few rounds in but here are my thoughts: - Do you prefer the new or old B site? Why? I much prefer the new B site, the walkway that T have above the stairs into B balances things out a lot more imo. The only thing I would say is that around the actual site it feels a bit claustrophobic because of the pillars everywhere, like Dejavo said. - Do you like the visual style? Theme is good but needs polish from an artist. - Was there any areas of the map you particularly liked/disliked? Mid feels much better now, I like the new centre piece and I'm glad the plant pots have gone. The wall added to CT side stairs makes it a much more balanced choke point. - How was the readability of the map? (Did you have trouble seeing enemies ever?) The only thing was the pillars at B, I felt like my vision was really restricted until I was pretty much stood on the point. Overall it looks clean, light and is very easy to read. - Did the map run well? (Were you lagging at all?) Ran perfectly fine on my PC. Not sure how much help any of that is but I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to seeing it finished.

Thanks for the replies guys, I'll bear it all in mind.

I'm putting together a CV which focuses on my QA experience and I'm just wondering what (other than relevant work experience) would be good to include. My previous experience has been at web/software companies, so I've become familiar with testing cycles, bug reporting and different tracking & project management tools, so I'll be including that too. Thought I'd ask here for a few tips as the majority of you are working in the games industry and/or may have some QA experience. Any advice would be a huge help.
