Does anyone else get a green tint on their screen and then a black flash when switching between HDMI inputs? It displays normally after a couple of seconds, not sure if it's an actual issue or not but yeah.

Are you using a receiver, or just plugging it directly to the TV? have you tried another HDMI port?

Yep, I tried that. It's plugged directly in to the TV.

I did a bit of investigating online and apparently it's down to the way certain TVs handle the HDCP handshake to verify the connection from HDMI. Some can display a black/blank screen whereas others can display a quick green flash. Lots of people seem to have the same thing, even with different devices and it was quite common on the PS3 too. I tried it on a different TV and it displayed fine, so that confirmed it wasn't an issue with the console at least.  :)

This solved a lot of HDMI problems for me (PS3, PS4 and XB1 all hooked up to one TV with ONE crappy HDMI port). Your results may vary, of course.

    Thanks, I'll give that a try  :)

As a beginner this guys tutorials helped me immensely.

Hmm, only piece of advise I could give you aside the tutorials is to start with a small project and try to make it good looking. Furthermore, learn to use the hotkeys and vertex tool as fast as possible, it speeds up your working process immensely!

    This.

After watching vivi's stream I realised how badly I needed to learn the hotkeys.

  3. I know I'm new around these parts but damn, you're a manly man Puds. I can't imagine going through that, yet you've come out of the other side stronger. I'm glad you're doing well man, I have a lot of respect for you and I hope your recovery goes smoothly.  :)

  4. I'd say go for it, you've got nothing to lose unless you're working full time. Like you said, it'll actually give you insight to the industry so you can decide if it's something you even want to pursue.

I'm actually in a similar situation, I've just been offered two weeks of work experience in QA at a studio near me, which I've decided to take. I'm working full time but I've booked the two weeks as holiday. There's the chance of a job at the end of it as they occasionally hire people that do well during their work experience, maybe that's something Crytek do?

But yeah, if you have a month spare then I'd definitely consider it.  :)

  6. Pretty much what everyone else has said. It's annoying when you put a lot of effort into an application and don't hear back. It's nice to get something, no matter how short, even if it's an automated reply it's still something to let you know where you stand.

As for giving people feedback, I personally wouldn't want any one to sugarcoat it. If something sucks I'd want to know, if there's something I can improve on then I'd want to know. I don't mean be a dick, but I always appreciate honest, constructive criticism.

  7. Definite buy!

Turtle Rock has been working on Evolve for three years.

There will be a solo 'experience' in Evolve, though Turtle Rock is not yet willing to talk about it.

A studio spokesperson says Evolve will feature "very lush and large outdoor environments" with "a lot of AI wildlife"

The monster player will leave tracks for hunters to follow as well as other "visual and aural clues".

The monster player will be able to feed on wildlife in order to grow larger and more fearsome

The game is designed for 1-vs-4 multiplayer, though fewer than that can participate in a session, with AI filling out the team. Players can switch between AI characters.

The story of Evolve involves the settlement of humanity on distant planets. The biggest frontier planet is called Shear. Hunters are tasked with making these dangerous, alien-infested planets hospitable to colonists, though aliens of Shear have evolved rapidly during the course of humanity's presence.

While Hunt mode pits four human players against a human controlled monster until the death, the monster player can complete objectives in order to win.

    Weapons have unlimited ammunition.

Hunters can only die and be revived three times before they're officially ousted from the game.

Classes include Assault, Medics, Support and Trappers. Assault focuses on aggression, Medics can provide health boosts to the team, Support can apply various power ups and shields to the team, while Trappers can contain the monsters.

Evolve will also boast a progression system for both characters and items.

In addition to Hunt mode, more modes will feature.

Evolve will be supported by post-launch content, but Turtle Rock stopped short of confirming DLC.

  8. Titanfall maximum player count is 6v6

Respawn Entertainment has confirmed a maximum of 12 players can play multiplayer shooter Titanfall at once.

"6v6 is max player count," Respawn chief Vince Zampella tweeted last night. "Turned out to be the best balance with AI for us."

Titanfall's maps include numerous AI-powered characters who work alongside and against players. There are also mechs that can be piloted, or used as computer-controlled sidekicks in follow or guard mode.

Zampella followed that tweet with another: "It is incredibly fun, we did a lot if testing. It is all about what we found most fun."

Then: "A 6v6 game can be a crazy experience, very fun." And: "We had it higher at points in testing, this felt best."

A little lower than I expected but then I thought that's potentially 12 titans in one map which would be crazy.

Yeah, lots of people are complaining about it but I think it's a good number given the fact you can let Titans roam on AI mode.

  9. I can finally connect to servers on Xbox One!  :D

For the last few days quick match hasn't worked for me and the queues on the server browser never seemed to go down, screw sitting in a queue of 90 people. Anyway, it seems to be working fine at the minute and despite everything it's still fun.

  10.

I'm so hyped for this game, the lack of a campaign doesn't really bother me at all, it can only mean good things for multiplayer. It would have been a bonus, but I think you'd struggle to find people who want this game for a campaign. I'm bored of the same old shooters dominating mp, I have my fingers crossed this turns out as awesome as it looks.

Oh and no killstreaks, sold.
