I don't want to get theoretical on this. But I think this gives a much better understanding of what "fun" is:
Also, flow as they mention it here sounds a lot like what pacing is supposed to be; a means to combat mechanic fatigue.

I never thought I would say this but I'm with Sentura on this one. This article doesn't seem to hit it's mark.

Interesting article. Also, it doesn't equate flow with what we call pacing imho.
