ZZZ reacted to Thrik in AI generated art
Nice. These tools feel sort of cheap to use yet the results can be very impressive. I wonder how much they’re being used in game dev now.
Here’s my effort.

ZZZ got a reaction from Thrik in AI generated art
I deleted my deviant art account.
I'm creating fantasy art, landscapes (mainly roads) and geometry.

More buildings. I didn't do any research on which type of architecture and style to use. That's undecided.

The idea is not to copy CTF-Coret from UT, but try something inspired by it.

I might make my first CS map ever. And I already have one source of inspiration

ZZZ got a reaction from HippoEntity in [UE5] Deck16 blockout
Decided to add a new corridor with two entrances and another pit with two lifts, like the existing one.
With the new paths the bridge in the middle with the shield doesn't make sense. However, the place where the jump boots are can be repurposed as a trap chamber. In the same way as DM-Pressure chamber.
8 meters is too wide for the corridors. 6 meters seem to feel better.
I don't like the sniping spot and the dead end with the Flak cannon. There is a new path connecting the two.

I'm going do the same thing as Malevolence. Except that this time around I want to explore some variations in paths, flow, item placement. Compare UT3 with UT and my own legodeck from years ago.

ZZZ got a reaction from Anarchy in [UE5] Deck16 blockout
I'm regretting the blockout. As I was writing the article about the map I was having ideas for new paths and other design changes. I didn't had to waste time in copying the same layout because I had this idea of changing it from the beginning.

I've never done a level with a floorplan. I tried before, but neve finished it. I though to myself "Why not pick up an existing level?". The plan is to blockout in UE5 and then run some design analysis about item placement, flow, etc. The idea is to not focus on visuals, env art.
The purpose of this work it to have a blockout level in my portfolio with comments. I decided to pick up an existing map to skip the "I want an original idea". This is a very small map to make it easier.
My portfolio already includes levels but none have a blockout and they are all more visually pleasing than focusing on design, which is what I wanted to do.
The floorplan

ZZZ got a reaction from AlexM in What have you cooked recently
I've learned something with cooking that rice. Previously I would cook the vegetables with some water because carrots are hard and they need cooking to become soft. But if you do that with onions and belly pepper it ruins the flavour. It's best to use olive oil and start cooking without adding any water. Onions, belly pepper and frozen vegetables already contain lots of water and I cook until all that water evaporates and you start hearing that frying sound.
That same recipe tastes great with mushrooms, specially shiitake. Pout pepper is great too.

I only use frozen spinach because the fresh baby has such a short shelf life @0kelvin
Totally agree on the mindfulness of cooking, always enjoyed it. Doesn’t work for everyone, my partner prefers if I cook for sure, she started doing more to have a break from the child lol
the rice you’ve done we’d call it “rice salad”, although would normally add würstel or tinned tuna too

I don't know if anybody ever noticed it. When you cook yourself rather than buying or ordering it, there is some pleasure involved in cooking. And also something related to planning ahead of time, taking care of yourself and having better control of your own time.

Mashed potatoes with spinach and onion. Salt and black pepper. Some butter too.
I bought spinach last week and almost forgot it rotting in the fridge.

I don't have a name and didn't follow any recipe in particular. It's rice + vegetables
Carrot Belly pepper Peas Cherry tomato (not really, in here there is a similar tomato called Sweet tomato. It's less rounder and more oval) Onions Garlic Himalayan Salt Dried grapes Black pepper Parsley Basil Olive oil
